“Small Room, Big Convenience — Loved the Stay”

We arrived at Hotel28 Myeongdong with 3 large suitcases and 1 medium, so we took a van taxi from the airport. The ride took about an hour and cost $90. The hotel’s front desk is on the 6th floor, and check‑in was smooth—two friendly ladies who spoke excellent English helped us right away. Our room wasn’t ready yet, but they happily stored our luggage so we could explore the area. The room itself was small but impressively efficient. The complimentary daily‑replenished fridge was a standout: water bottles, two beers, one sparkling water, and a seaweed snack replenished every day. The room also included a coffee maker, tea, plush towels and robes, slippers, bidet, rain shower, and wall‑mounted shampoo/conditioner/body wash. They also provided lotion, shower cap, bath sponge, a Dyson hair dryer, and a magnifying makeup mirror!! Water pressure was fantastic. Toothbrush and shaving kits are available but not complimentary. The bed was very comfortable, with four pillows and a master remote on one nightstand that controlled all the lights. This was convenient—unless the person on that side of the bed was already asleep. If you’re on the opposite side, you’ll have to get up to turn off your bedside lamp. There is also a second wall‑mounted control panel near the door for lighting and temperature, which was handy. EU outlets were available on both sides of the bed, and EU‑US adapters were provided upon request. The large flat‑screen TV allowed us to log into our streaming services. Good free wifi. The hotel’s film‑themed décor added a fun touch. There’s a reasonably priced restaurant on the 2nd floor that opens at 11 AM, and a café on the ground floor. Although the room was compact, we genuinely enjoyed our stay. The comfortable bed and the daily fridge refill were highlights. The only disappointment was the wall‑mounted liquid dispensers—each pump released a tiny amount, and it took more than 25 pumps to get enough shampoo or conditioner. The location is perfect! Right outside are tons of restaurants, and within a minute you’re in a lively street full of food vendors, T‑shirt carts, and shops that come alive every late afternoon. The hotel is also just 1–2 minutes from many makeup stores and pharmacies, and about a 10‑minute walk to the underground shopping center. No swimming pool, but the rooms were very clean. We used Uber Taxi for sightseeing, but be aware: the estimate shown is never the final fare, and one ride even doubled the quoted price. Overall, we loved the staff, the comfort, and the unbeatable location. Definitely will stay here again!!!

I rarely write reviews for hotels that I don’t have any status with, as I don’t think it is a fair comparison. Hotels that I don’t have status with, I don’t have many expectations. However, Hotel 28 surprised me. The day we arrived, the receptionists were super accommodating. I am extremely sensitive and allergic to smoke smells, and the receptionist spent a great amount of time with us working with us to find a suitable room that does not have any smells. Everyone was extremely helpful and polite, and handled all our requests promptly, which is quite unusual compared to other places in Seoul. What went above and beyond is our daughter managed to throw up in the middle of the night. Although we caught most of it, some got into the bed. We felt so bad and requested if it was possible to replace the bedsheets or provide us some towels for the time being, given that they don’t have any housekeepers in the late night. To my surprise, the receptionist (I forgot her name) came over, changed the bedsheet herself, even though it wasn’t her job, and managed to find a new blanket for us. Furthermore, she ensured us she will put a change bedsheets request as soon as the housekeepers show up in the morning. The true hospitality isn’t when everything goes well, it is when something goes wrong and how the staff handled it. One thing I believe Hotel 28 could improve is the breakfast options. There weren’t many Western options except for Korean. Quite disappointed in terms of breakfast options and most likely we won’t book to include breakfast next time.

One of the best things about this hotel is definitely its location. It’s right in the middle of everything, so shopping and sightseeing are all within walking distance, and having both Lines 2 and 4 nearby made it really easy to get around Seoul. The staff were nice and friendly, and the information sheet they gave us was genuinely helpful. It explained things like what items we could borrow from the front desk and the operating hours for the hotel’s facilities, so we didn’t have to call reception every time we had a question. The room was a good size for two people, with enough space to open our suitcases without feeling cramped. I also appreciated the complimentary minibar, coffee machine, and coffee capsules! It was nice not having to think twice about using them. But there were a couple of things I thought could be improved. The room door was quite heavy and tended to slam shut instead of closing gently, which felt a little unsafe. Also, the digital controls for the lights and air conditioning a bit confusing at first since everything is operated through a touchscreen. Breakfast was good overall. It was nice to try a Korean style breakfast! Also, a simple salad bar, and plenty of drink options. That said, at KRW 27,000 per person, I personally didn’t think it was great value for money. I think I would have been happier with it if there had been a bit more variety or a couple of signature dishes.

Stayed here for 3 nights during a first visit to Seoul. The hotel is located in the heart of Myeongdong in a very busy area. The room was modern and luxurious. Our window faced a brick wall on a side street, but on the plus side offered a quiet night’s sleep despite where the hotel is located. We enjoyed the free mini bar. Sadly I wasn’t aware of the rooftop bar so didn’t use it.
