“Passing so popped in for a drink”

A little off the beaten track but worth the effort. Parking, swimming pool, rooms. Had a drink on the terrace friendly staff lovely views. Will return to check out the accommodation. Not far from Malaga.

I don't know how they get their star rating but this is not a 4 star hotel. I would give it 3 at the most. On arrival it looks good from the outside but as our stay progressed the cracks began to show. The pool is open from 12 noon and was not properly clean, as the water was cloudy and the pool surround which was painted concrete did not appear to have been painted for a while, certainly not for this summer season. The lift was out of order and did not go all the way down to the lower level anyway which meant there was a flight of stairs to be negotiated down to the pool area, which could be a problem for someone with mobility problems as has my wife. We booked half board but I would not recommend this option as the dinner options on half board are limited and not the best I have had anyway. The only waiter on duty was also serving at the bar which was in another room. He was trying his hardest and was a credit to the hotel. Or room was small but okay for one night but I would not like to stay longer than a couple of days. The television in the room was ancient, not a flat screen and when it was on gave of a loud humming noise. There was no in-room safe and the minibar was empty and also noisy. One of our bath towels had a hole in it and just about fell apart when I was using it. They provide towels for use by the pool for a deposit of 7 euros but you only get 5 Euros back when you return them. The pool bar wasn't open and the hotel bar was shut when I went there for a drink just before 5 p.m. There was no information on the door, in reception or in the room stating opening times. Later before dinner which is served from 8.30 p.m. we went to the bar for a drink and found the tables were all marked with water rings where glasses had been on them and did not appear to have been properly cleaned for a while. Breakfast was basic 2 sliced meats some slices of melon, toast and jam, some pieces of cake a couple of cereals, juices and coffee, tea etc. Some of the cups did not appear to have been properly cleaned or had not been checked after coming out of the dishwasher WiFi was poor there was virtually no signal all the time we were there in the room or by the pool. To sum it up I would not recommend it to friends and will not be going there again
