I am not sure why this place has had so many poor reviews, particularly in the value for money section. It is only €35 per night to stay here ! Spotlessly clean. Very convenient for onward travel. Surprisingly little noise from autovia. Yes rooms are rather dated in decor but still comfortable. Good selection of food available in adjoining cafeteria which offers snacks and main meals - reasonably priced. Aircon interior or lovely external terrace. They also have a shop selling a broad range of goods. Staff were helpful and friendly. I would probably rate the place as good but only average or very good ratings available on TA. It was better than average.

“Quick spot for a meal”

Stopped here for lunch on our way to Torremolinos. There is a cafeteria style area with cold plates as well as hot food. My pasta was over cooked, but tasty. There is a nice outdoor seating area to enjoy your meal. Prices are reasonable. Large restrooms.

I stayed two nights, Friday and Saturday, in this very busy (at the time we were there anyway) hotel, with relatives. I needed a single room and my relatives a double room. I was given a room on the first floor with a double bed and a separate bathroom/toilet. The room was a decent size, with small TV and large fitted wardrobe. The room (No 115) faced the road leading into the center of Loja and mountains beyond. It suited me for price 25.00 euros/night and although quite basic, it was clean and tidy. There was a small square bath doubling as a shower enclosed with a shower curtain. The bath would be too small for an adult to stretch out in. This was obviously a busy weekend with events or parties both nights. The Saturday night was particularly busy and quite noisy until 1am in the morning. There were two higher floors which may have been quieter. I had a sliding window but my relatives had a balcony. Staff were friendly and willing to sort problems out quickly (I only had a couple of minor problems). The hotel is on the outskirts of town about 15/20 mins steady walk to center.

“Basic, friendly and good value for money”

We stayed at this hotel twice in the second week of July when it was used as a base for an ultra-trail race around the area, which my husband participated in. On both occasions, we were given very spacious rooms; Room 225 - 1 double and 1 single bed and Room 223 – 2 single beds. The rooms and the bathrooms were basic but clean. Both rooms have large balconies with an amazing view of a nearby village with a majestic mountain in the background. There is a bar on the ground floor which serves rather good meals if you do not want to go into Loja. Across the road, there is a large local supermarket and Lidl side-by-side, where you can get food, drinks and the daily essentials. We were quite unfortunate though, on one of the nights, because there was a wedding party going on at an open-air restaurant right next to our room. The loud music and celebration went on until 4am and there was nothing the hotel can do about it because it was not their restaurant/property. We could not sleep that night despite ear-plugs and such!! So, it will be advisable for you to check with the reception before checking-in to see whether there will be a party going on next door. Get a room away from the restaurant if there is. Otherwise, you will get no sleep!! The staff were friendly and accommodating. There is nothing much in Loja, but this hotel serves as a good base for those who wish to travel onward to Granada and around. We visited quaint and beautiful villages like Alhama de Granada, Jatar and Jayena (all south of Loja) where we camped at their beautiful natural parks. Highly recommended!!
