“Wanted to give it more - but a few issues - especially noise.”

It’s a real shame that I could not give this more stars, but I always want to be honest with my reviews. It’s a real shame that I could not give this more stars, but I always want to be honest with my reviews. First, if you are not familiar with Malaga central as a location, then there are parts of it where taxis and cars cannot go. This means that for some hotels and accommodation you have to walk through the streets with all your luggage. This is fine for some, but if your partner has a disability then it can be a nightmare. We were made aware of the fact that the hostel charges €20 if you check in after 9. You also have to inform them in advance. I have put this on here, just incase others are not aware. We were greeted by a lovely lady who was extremely welcoming, and showed us to our room. I have zero complaints about the room Itself. It has a rustic charm and is quirky but clean and not bad value. Good air con and heating system and tv. The shower room was also clean and nicely presented. The towels were not changed on one day, even though they were placed on the floor to be changed, however that was sorted. There is no tea and coffee facilities, so be aware of this if you would like them. WiFi was excellent. Now to the downside ..... noise. All night. Not only do the cafes and bars outside get extremely noisy, but at 4am as the people get more and more drunk, they get louder and louder. Add in the fact that there is someone emptying glass bottles from a bar at 6am, rolling beer kegs along the street and a street cleaning machine, it doesn’t make for a good nights sleep. The hostel also has a bar and the noise comes right up through the building too. On the Friday night, one rowdy party decided to bang and crash about to such an extent, I almost went out to tell them to shut up. For the Saturday night .... it was worse. I have been in city locations such as London before, but nothing compares to this! So on the Sunday I went out and purchased some ear plugs for the Sunday night. Only this time the neighbouring room was banging, crashing and shouting. I am beyond shattered and pleased to be home. I’m sad to give this review because Malaga central has a lot to offer. The actual hostel is also clean and functional and has the making of being an excellent base, but something has to be done about the noise... even if that is to put in some secondary glazing. The breakfast is also a little hit and miss. No options, it just comes out in front of you. We sat down and the girl appeared to look at us, as if we were a pain to be wanting it. So for the other days, we ate at a cafe along the road. Such a shame.
