Having read some of the TA reviews after booking, we were a bit anxious about what we'd find, but were very pleasantly surprised. The location is wonderful, on the main street about half way between the metro and the transporter bridge. OK, the place is a little shabby, but it is only a 1* Pension. Having booked for 5 nights I think we had the best room, room 1. The room was a reasonable size, with sufficient storage and a traditional Basque enclosed balcony, with a coffee table and two armchairs, the bed was comfortable, and the lady in charge left an extra blanket, without our asking, when the weather turned colder. The staff were friendly, and the accomodation clean. The included breakfast turned out to be coupons for the café about 50m down the street (La Kazuela), which covered the standard "coffee, pintxo, and (fresh-pressed orange) juice", but the range of pintxos was excellent - all very tasty!

“Quite good stay except for a few things ”

We checked in for a 4 days 3 night stay. The room is quite ok except we didn't like it facing the graveyard. The staff are friendly but do not speak English well. We checked in for a 4 days 3 night stay. The room is quite ok except we didn't like it facing the graveyard. The staff are friendly but do not speak English well. They wanted to charge me an additional 100 baht per night for an extra pillow and I was put off when they refuse to grant me another half an hour for late check out as there were many empty room at our floor .Breakfast was just ok with daily changes for Thai food the other food choice like egg, bacon & fruits remain the same everyday. Pool is a lap pool not even a proper size.For sgd 100.00 a night it's not worth it, I stay better ones for this rate. Lastly the area of the hotel is good with little stalls that sells halal Thai food & family mart.

We had a pleasant stay at Pension Areeta. It wasn't great, it wasn't bad, It was adequate for our needs. We wanted a place that was easy to get to, not very expensive and close to the cruise ship terminal. Our room was on the small side. It doesn't have air conditioning. We had to leave our window open and the nearby bars and clubs are a bit loud. We got a free breakfast. They give you a coupon to eat at LaKazuela, a tapas bar a couple of doors down. You get a tapa, cappuccino and fresh squeezed orange juice. The pension is fairly easy to get to if you are traveling light. Get on the Aerobus at the airport. Take it to Moyua Plaza. Take the metro to the Areeta Station. The pension is only a couple of blocks away and easy to find. The lobby you see in the photos is on the first floor (2nd floor to us Americans). The ladies working the desk didn't speak much English but were friendly, efficient and helpful. I booked this on Booking.com. They had my reservation and I had no problem checking in. We had a good wifi connection. They called a taxi for us in the morning. It is 8 Euro to go to the cruise port. The pension is in a lovely part of town. There are many places to eat and markets. It is only a couple of blocks from the river and the sea front. There is a nice walking/biking trail along the sea front.
