As a group of 6 friends we stayed at this hotel at the start of October. It was unanimously the best hotel any of us had stayed at in San Sebastián - indeed in Spain. The location was spectacular. The rooms were big spacious and immaculately clean throughout our 4 day stay. Loved the showers and made good use of a very well stocked mini bar! The unique conversion of a convent to a hotel is demonstrated in the spectacular entrance lobby and bar - including stained glass windows and ornate decoration. The staff were brilliant. Professional friendly and so helpful. They helped to make our stay truly special and deserve the credit and praise for this - as well as our sincerest thanks. A special mention on the breakfast. It was the best hotel breakfast we had experienced by a mile. The quality of food and the variety and attention to detail was amazing. Without exception we will all be returning with partners and family to experience the delights of this hotel again!

“Perfect Location, Great Service, Why Wouldn't You Stay Here?”

The hotel was charming, in a great walkable location and the service was superb. I can't wait to go back. It even has a rooftop pool to relax at after a long day of eating.

There are so many lovely things about this hotel but also some bits that let it down as well. First off it’s easy to find, we arrived at the busstation and the walk was 15/20mins. We’d booked via our travel agents for our 10 year wedding anniversary. We arrived late in the evening around 9.30/10pm and check in took so long. Unnecessarily long it felt. We were told the booking was without breakfast, we had from the travel agent to show it was with breakfast. Then it was ok. Passports, cards, etc. All took a bit too long but we received a nice recommendation to go to for something to eat. The rooms are fine, ours was really spacious, on the front of the hotel. It’s wasn’t loud at all from outside. The hotel is louder from the inside. Could hear upstairs neighbours using their toilets and people walking about constantly. We found the beds very uncomfortable and the pillows way too thin and soft. But all hotels beds and pillows are different. Bathroom was great, lovely size and a nice shower. The breakfast is nice but it’s exactly the same everyday and there’s not a huge amount on offer. You’re better off not booking it and going out for breakfast, it’ll be cheaper. The staff were lovely and made an effort to chat every time we passed the front desk. The location is amazing, it’s so close to the beach and a small walk to most parts of the town. You can also get beach towels for free. When we checked out we thought it would be straight forward, we only had a bottle of water from the minibar (€3) and were told we had to pay £36 as we used the coffee machine and we had rose petals. As it was our 10 year wedding anniversary and we booked via our travel agent they surprised us with rose petals and champagne in our room on our arrival. We thought it was a bit odd that we were being asked to pay for the rose petals and the coffee machine which is free in the room. We mentioned this and they said ok fine we’ll remove it which was much appreciated. Overall lovely place but probably cheaper elsewhere and potentially nicer.

“Good hotel, bar staff need more focus.”

Charming hotel, formerly a convent.  The young lady that checked us in was very informative, friendly and professional.  Our bedroom was large and comfortable. Good bathroom with power shower and quality bed linen.  The hotel is less than three minutes walk to the beach. On the downside, the customer service from bar staff leaves a lot to be desired.  The young man on duty Saturday evening while serving us, turned his back on us in mid conversation.  He engaged in conversation with a colleague and ignored us therafter.  His behavior was quite rude.  We had to draw the attention of another staff member to complete our order.  Finally,  it might be a good idea to make an announcement 10 minutes before the bar is due to close as many guests were quite surprised at being refused service in an abrupt manner by the young lady.   After the first evenings experience we chose to have drinks elsewhere and found staff at other establishments far more cheerful, efficient  and service orientated.  Were it not for the unprofessionsl behaviour of bar staff we would have given a 5 star rating.
