We found this warm and friendly tapas bar just off the Plaza Mayor. Delicious tapas and the other patrons were so friendly and welcoming. We found this warm and friendly tapas bar just off the Plaza Mayor. Delicious tapas and the other patrons were so friendly and welcoming. We loved it so much that we decided to eat downstairs in their lovely restaurant. It was a good choice. Excellent food, lovely service and a perfectly cooked rare fillet of beef. Recommended.

“Comfortable space and a great value”

We stayed here for two nights. Our room was nicely updated, very comfortable, and clean. The location is very convenient to all of the sights in Salamanca and great bars and restaurants, while still offering quiet for a good night's sleep. “Creative tapas in a crowded and noisy small room”

And it was precisely such an ambiance of a place busy with locals, incessantly chatting, mostly standing up, beer or wine in hand, facing a counter filled with tapas behind the glass, efficiently served by three attentive persons. In Salamanca there is no shortage of tapas bars but this one looks like 'the place' to visit at day's end and/or early evening. The door to the tapas bar leads to an approximately 9' x 9' space that includes the bar area itself, a couple of tiny tables, a few chairs and a wall table stand. That's it. But singular Tapas , with capital T they offer! And an abundance of good wine and cold cañas to accompany the goodies. Now, this bar is in the same floor where a contiguous counter for same building hostel is located. But that is not all. If you go down stairs to a basement space you will find a well rated small restaurant which opens late at night. Anyhow, if you happen to be near the Market at happy hour time and look across the glass door a large group of customers do not get discouraged or go further. Open ( or push) that door and get into the tapas bar, park yourself as close as you can to the people in front, scan the tasty offerings in display and make eye to eye contact with any waiter behind the glass dome and as soon as that happens put your order without blinking. Your tapas will be served almost immediately and your wine or beer glasses filled speedily. Still in second line behind front line customers? Be patient. Talk to your couple or friend and soon you will be feeling part of the large , talkative, laughing choir enjoying the moment in great camaraderie tasting delicious, freshly made confections. Do allow yourself to try 'jetes' . They will increase your thirst and alcohol tolerance.
