We were very lucky to find this property on a well know booking site two days before our trip to Barcelona. We booked an hotel nearby but after reviewing their incredibly poor recent TripAdvisor’s we decided to make use of our free cancellation option and booked Habitat apartment instead. Outstanding value for money. It’s December and it cold and rainy. Sadly there is no heating in the apartment but apart from that it’s very good. Everything you need, Wi-fi a safe for your valuables, fridge, kettle etc. Perfect location for us. Walking distance to we’re we wanted to go and when the rain was unbearable we used the bus that stopped outside the front door. Plaça a Espanya metro is four minutes walk from the apartment, the green line takes you pretty much to most of the attractions. The restaurant Bodega Monumental below the apartment is definitely worth a visit. We popped in several times during our stay for tapas and drinks, vermouth is very good! There is an amazing market Hostafrancs a few metres away perfect to pick up supplies and a bakery opposite. There are two TVs one in lounge and one in bedroom sadly for us it only stream Spanish tv and therefore no good for us English speaking folk, saying that we did not come to watch TV. Our apartment was on the fourth floor, there is a very good working lift, no need to negotiate the stairs. We also had a terrace but as it was raining so much we couldn’t use it, maybe next time. We stayed two days but can definitely see the value for staying here on a longer trip. We requested a early check in and for extra 10euro they were very accommodating. Definitely worth a visit.

“Value for money”

PRO The location was better than expected. Underground, hop on hop, and shopping just outside the door (market, bakery 1 min walk). Furthermore, airport bus within 5 min walk - Plaza de Espana. !5 min by foot (relaxed) to Monjuic Fountains Enough cutlieries, pans to cook and have a decent meal. … more

PRO The location was better than expected. Underground, hop on hop, and shopping just outside the door (market, bakery 1 min walk). Furthermore, airport bus within 5 min walk - Plaza de Espana. !5 min by foot (relaxed) to Monjuic Fountains Enough cutlieries, pans to cook and have a decent meal. Comfortable beds. CONS The stairwell was too narrow (difficult with luggages). Its situation meant there was noise from road at night (but the bedrooms were on the opposite side of the apartment so it was quiet, as they were facing an interior court). Also the Metro goes under the apartment so you hear it every time the train pass under the apartment. Would have like to have been told it was above a bar. It took a month to release my deposit (after 3 emails), although they've told me 1 week.

“Mediocre apartment in Barcelona”

Currently staying this apartment. There is some wear and tear. Paint missing from living room ledge and floor vinyl planks separting in the kitchen area (possible prior water damage). Currently staying this apartment. There is some wear and tear. Paint missing from living room ledge and floor vinyl planks separting in the kitchen area (possible prior water damage). Be aware you have to carry all your luggage up a flight of narrow steps before you get to the elevator. It is a nice kitchen and open to the living room. No storage in bathroom or any shelf in the shower to place soap, shampoo, etc. In the bedroom, you can hear the water running from the upstairs apartment. You can also hear/feel the train from the adjacent Metro station. We are on the first floor. You have to take out your garbage when you leave. They charge a $300 deposit which you should receive back in 7 to 10 days. For the price, I would stay in a hotel instead. We didn't plan on cooking, so not really worth it (it cost more than a hotel).
