“Magnificent hotel at a good value”

This is a WOW kind of place. Coming from Paris, I was worried that we'd have another exceptionally small room. When we booked, we thought we had booked twin beds, but apparently, we had not. This is a WOW kind of place. Coming from Paris, I was worried that we'd have another exceptionally small room. When we booked, we thought we had booked twin beds, but apparently, we had not. We upgraded, to get twin beds, and ended up with a MAGNIFICENT room. Understand, I like grand hotel rooms. From that standpoint, this was completely a "wow" kind of moment. From a nice, spacious, comfortable balcony, to a wonderfully large room, to a spacious bathroom that was both elegant and functional, Hotel Primero Primera was magnificent. It wasn't in the midst of all the action, so it was a quiet getaway, and that added to it. Even with the upgrade price, the hotel was undoubtedly a bargain. This hotel gets big-time props for service and style. I'd easily love to stay here again.

We arrived to the hotel early and our room wasn’t ready, but they gladly took our luggage. While we were discussing with them the need for Sagrada Familia reservations (which they made for us), our room became available and they immediately transferred our luggage to our king terrace room. We arrived to our room very pleased with the large, elegant room and nice terrace. Overall, our stay was pleasant and the staff welcoming. However, I just cannot give 5 stars to this 5 star hotel. There were too many glitches. The first night we heard loud clanging of dishes from the restaurant (I wore earplugs the rest of the stay). The TV hadn’t been logged out of Netflix by the prior guest and all was in Arabic. It took my husband 2 nights and significant time to figure it out. We said something to the front desk, but it wasn’t resolved. One afternoon as we tried to enjoy our terrace, a gas weed trimmer in the garden destroyed the time both due to prolonged noise and the odor of gasoline. There is no room service menu in the room, just a QR code that didn’t work for either of our phones…until 10 minutes after scanning it, when we finally gave up and went downstairs to ask for a hard copy. All this said, the food we ordered was quite good. Adapters I use everywhere in Europe wouldn’t fit in their outlets. Thankfully I had a couple different ones that did work. All in all it was a great place, but there were simply too many small glitches to give it 5 stars.

I agree with other reviews regarding hotel rating: this is, in no way, a 5 star hotel. It needs some maintenance. I agree with other reviews regarding hotel rating: this is, in no way, a 5 star hotel. It needs some maintenance. Breakfast is good but not at the level of variety one would expect from a 5-star outlet. There is no closet in our room of 2. At our arrival yesterday late night, no concierge service to help with luggages. I can go in with details one would expect to have/find in a 5 star. Overall, this is a good 4 star hotel (but still needs a bit of maintenance/improvement). If you are looking for a real 5 star experience, find another option.
