Standard Ibis hotel with well maintained facilities and rooms , efficient , courteous and helpful staff , fast internet , quiet room . I got the impression than the bed was harder than other Ibis’ beds but nevertheless comfortable .There is a shopping mall next to the hotel and a department store , the metro/commuting train station is about 7 minutes walk from the hotel , overall the area feels safe day and night

“A convenient hotel.”

A convenient hotel , walking distance to two metro stations. Fabra i Puig and Virrei Amat, a bit further. Clean hotel with very accommodating and pleasant staff. My lack of Spanish no problem they spoke English. helped tourists with direction and recommend places of interest with maps etc. . Sump… more

A convenient hotel , walking distance to two metro stations. Fabra i Puig and Virrei Amat, a bit further. Clean hotel with very accommodating and pleasant staff. My lack of Spanish no problem they spoke English. helped tourists with direction and recommend places of interest with maps etc. . Sumptuous breakfast. Large eating mall and shopping mall few yards away. Could help to keep the plants outside, better. I would use the hotel again.

“Basic and clean.”

The rooms are basic and clean, but aircon is not very effective and it’s only the beginning of summer in Barcelona. We had the aircon on the coldest setting and still it only just cooled the room. The rooms are basic and clean, but aircon is not very effective and it’s only the beginning of summer in Barcelona. We had the aircon on the coldest setting and still it only just cooled the room. The bathroom was clean but has funky smell coming from the drain. The towels are very thin and small, there was not hand towel for the bathroom. The bar service was pretty poor. They have cocktails advertised but couldn’t figure out how to make a basic cocktail on their list. There was a significant language barrier with the person attending the bar the day we asked for cocktails. They ran out of on top local beer, the service was very slow waited 15 minutes to be service despite the fact that there were 3 staff sitting at the front desk around the corner from the bar and only one of them dealing with incoming guests. Breakfast is reasonable and has a selection to choose from. There is paid parking onsite.

Not much point reviewing an Ibis because they're all pretty much identical but three things stood out here, none of them good. 1) General: This one's toward the end of its renewal cycle, lacking the freshness that Ibis often manage. 2) Location: one of the very few places in the city that's more than ten minutes from public transport. 3) Service: One of the towels in my room was suspiciously damp. Oh and maybe avoid telling guests that breakfast is not included on their reservation when it is. So would I stay there again? No. What if it was a third of the price of something similar near the Rambla? Oh OK then.
