If you read the reviews it shows without any doubt how out of touch with the real world so many people are. It's actually very frightening. So let's speak some truth. Firstly lifts. This is is a real shocker. Even my cat would understand that there could never be a lift in this or such other beautiful buildings in Cities like Cordoba. Yet grown ups can't? All the moans and groans about struggling with luggage. Well there is a website called Wikitravel which would tell you most properties in the old town could never have a lift. Or maybe don't bring so much! That way people won't fill the Ave trains with ridiculously large suitcases so sensible packers like myself can't fit our normal sized cases anywhere. They do the same on Eurostar. Rotten selfish people. Secondly value for money. I live in London. I doubt I could get a stained mattress in a hostel in London for €16/£16 (the euro and pound are now twins) My room was beautifully clean with great wifi and private bathroom. Very comfortable. And it's plenty big enough. One crazy reviewer wrote there's not enough room for suitcases. Now what did I just say about over packing. Serves you right. No surprise the most critical reviewers are from North America. There is a city in North America called New York City which is even more expensive than London. Maybe these reviewers are too busy moaning about trivia to travel. But if you haven't heard of NYC it's good to visit but expensive. But it would be a great reality check for most of these reviewers. Hospederia Luis de Gongora is without doubt the best value place I have ever stayed in. And I travel a lot. Click on my profile to see all my reviews. There are hundreds. So you will not get 5* hotel facilities for the price of 1* hostal. This is what these idiots are expecting. Obvious to most people but not some of these completely out of touch reviewers. I was actually expecting somebody to complain their backside wasn't wiped by the staff such is the nonsense these people write. These people really should be banned from leaving their own homes until they realise what actually exists in the real world. I had a great stay and it was amazing value. I couldn't ask for more except these out of touch spoiled brats get ripped off at their next accommodation and have to eat humble pie about Hospederia Luis de Gongora. Thank you for a lovely and great value stay.

“Good value stay.”

This hospederia was well positioned, clean and comfortable at a very good price. The staff were friendly and helpful and communication before our arrival was excellent. Our only small gripe was that sound travelled around the building especially if residents were inconsiderate.

A pleasant little place. The location is excellent. The rooms are small but clean and adequate. Play the little extra to get a room with a balcony if you plan to stay any length of time (we stayed seven nights).the walls are thin but guests tend to keep the noise down as much as they can. The only negative is that there is no lift so I had to struggle up 3 flights of stairs with our bags (and we are on either side of seventy). I recommend this place.

This place is decent for its price. The only massive issue I had was the shower. Firstly, it wasn’t very clean. Secondly, the water drains very slowly. It means that when you shower there’s a puddle on your feet and there are all sorts of things floating about, it’s not very nice. Also the whole bathrooms gets very wet. Overall it was okay for a couple of days, but I wouldn’t want to stay there for too long personally.
