We stayed here for two nights a few weeks ago. Beautiful traditional property at the edge of this small town. We stayed in a standard double room - they are all quite different and some nicer than others (only 1 has a balcony, and rooms on the top floor don’t all have a side window - but do have a big window in the roof) and we note that the property doesn’t have airconditioning but we did have a good and quiet fan in the room which worked fine in conjunction with leaving the window open. What we liked the most was the pool and outdoor terrace area. A very pretty and great place to relax after visiting vineyards during the day with drinks served by the indoor bar. The property doesn’t do food which is a shame as it would have been great to have an alfresco dinner or lunch there one day. They do serve a good breakfast. We were slightly unlucky that we stayed here on the 22nd which was the date of the town’s annual party so it was quite noisy till late. Staff were friendly enough but fairly reserved. For dinner we went into Nareja and Santo Domingo de La Calzada respectively, both a c 10 min drive away.

“Nice hotel on the Camino. Definitely worth staying.”

A hidden gem on the Camino de Santiago. Hotel is all different and unique rooms. It's like walking into a history of Spain. Town is very small, with just 2 simple local places to eat, but very fun as the people are great. Great filling breakfast as well as a great bar in the hotel.

The hotel is very nice and well appointed. The rooms are comfortable and the accommodation is good. The breakfast room and bar area is pleasant with comfortable seating. There is an outdoor pool and a terrace with tables and chairs and a gazebo area for shaded seating. Breakfast was good and there was a good choice of food. The main downside is that the small town of Azofra itself is not particularly attractive but it is an agricultural area and the town reflects this. The relatively poor nature of the town is no way reflected in the high standard of the hotel - which is very good. The other downside is that the hotel has no restaurant and you will have to drive some miles for an evening meal. There is a cafe in the town but it is poor and the service was less than friendly. Based on our experience I could not recommend the cafe in the town! It would be good if the hotel offered a few simple snacks (nuts, crisps, chocolate or similar) from the bar. If it had done we would have spent the odd evening in the bar rather than driving to source food. The hotel has a small private car park and as long as you have a car it's in a wonderful location to explore the wider Rioja region - well worth exploring. Our room did not have air conditioning although I'm not sure if this applies to all rooms. A fan was provided although given the time of year it wasn't a problem. The staff were friendly, well informed and very helpful. Overall a very nice hotel in a lovely region.

My husband and I stayed here for three nights in June. While we loved Rioja, we thought this was one of our worst hotel choices ever. The hotel itself is quaint and well kept and the staff are very nice, BUT there are so many other factors that make it a big disappointment. First, the location is VERY poor. The town it's in has one restaurant that is not great. You are not in a location in which you can walk around and enjoy a town. So once you are back at the hotel, there is really nothing else to do. The breakfast was fine, but it is exactly the same thing every day. They have a bar where you can get wine, but there is no other food (except olives). They really should have a mini store of some sort where you can purchase snacks and they should offer some other food at the bar. This was way overpriced for what you get. Would not recommend.
