“A pleasant corporate hotel/roadhouse ”

We stayed here en route to the coast of Spain and would recommend it for an overnight stop. It's on the wine route of Rioja adjacent to Navarre so surrounding countryside is full of bodegas and vineyards. Pleasant, clean hotel, nice fluffy, soft towels and good size room. The hotel hosts parties and weddings etc with a marquee outside so could probably be noisy at weekends. It's very popular with locals and families. The menu del dia was about €12 including water and wine which wasn't the best quality food we've had but adequate. However the restaurant doesn't open for dinner til 9pm. Food is also served in the café area. This hotel (although corporate as part of a chain) is also a truck stop and park and frequented by the drivers, as many roadhouses in Spain are - so not really worth dressing up for dinner but don't let that put you off! Very friendly bar staff but waiting staff seem so rushed and hardly give you time to order in the restaurant. You definitely need to be able to translate the menu yourself as no English spoken. Breakfast was predominantly continental and adequate. Fortunately we can work our way round a Spanish menu!

“Stopover”

This was a stop for 1 night on our way to a family wedding in Alicante. Room was clean and spacious. Had a couple of tapas for lunch which was nice and tasty. The dining room didn't open for dinner until late so we had Several tapas and a bottle of wine about 7pm, again good. Breakfast was plentiful with lots of choice.It's on the main road so easy to spot. This hotel seemed to be a popular stop for truckers to grab a drink,bite to eat,then off on the road again. Great for 2 Brits to People watch! The staff were great and spoke some English which was far better than our Spanish! There is a swimming pool which wasn't in use yet( probably too Early in the season.)

It looked really good online when we booked it for an overnight stay en-route to Bilbao. It is really a very big truck stop for the big boys. We arrived quite late in the evening and there were probably more than 75 HGVs parked up already, so we were a bit apprehensive about whether it was going to be a bit rough and ready, but we were pleasantly surprised when we checked in. The reception is part of the main bar. The place was busy and - as anyone who travels in Spain knows - very noisy. We were checked in by a charming receptionist who spoke a little English (to go with my little Spanish). Our room was quite spacious and clean throughout. However, we found it unusual that the bathroom had neither obscured glass nor curtains/blind and was at eye level. The choice of food in the restaurant was reasonable and the meal we had was quite good. Note that the restaurant does not open until 20.30 hrs. So far so good. Now a couple of negative comments. Apart from the massive lorry park there was nowhere to walk our dog, no greenery or grass anywhere, but a lot of broken glass, gravel and rubbish and considering that the charge for a pooch is 10 euros I think a little more could be done for dog owners. The clear bathroom window is a bit creepy. My wife was on the loo when I saw a guy standing outside the bathroom window smoking a ciggy. The rooms have a fire escape window which lead out onto a balcony/walkway and fire escape, so anyone can walk past and have nosey into the rooms. We had very early start the next morning and when we enquired about breakfast were told that there would be a sort of buffet selection on the bar from 6.30 onwards until the restaurant opened. Don't bother. All in all a basic overnight truck stop hotel and reasonable value for money which we will use again in the future. I have marked down the sleep quality and cleanliness to average because of the car park and the noise from the aircon units.
