The place is about a 14 Euro ride away from Chamartin station (where we arrived) which is why I chose it. Bad idea location-wise as the station we departed from was a 35 Euro ride from it (as was a friend we visited) in downtown near Latina. But that's on us. Sorry, me. The Exe is part of the eurohotels chain, so expect similar overall good service and rooms. The guy (Nicolas, if I recall correctly) who checked us in was fab. He gave us a good restaurant rec (Honest Greens, truth be told the only reasonable place within walking distance), fixed our safe problem personally, and was helpful when it came to ordering a taxi, or helping us assess our travel options. Kudoes to him. Can't necessarily say the same to the other front desk person we dealt with. On the negative side, the tv had nothing but Spanish language channels, and most frustratingly the hotel ran out of regular instant coffee for the rooms. Seriously. Overall - it's a good place but locationwise in the boondocks which is why I would not go back there again.

Much better than before. I don’t know if this is because there are finally some guys at the reception because there was a time when all women were like “no, not possible, thank you, good night” (and I am a female). Today there was a guy who actually bothered to help me with some basic 1 min thing (that any female could do have done as well but chose not to in the past). Appreciation to the hotel to finally hire some gentlemen and not ignorant and too proud women (again - from me being a woman)

“Nice value hotel”

Very good location for the airport. Room spacious and clean. Helpful staff at the desk, especially Hamza. Nice foyer area. Only minor complaint was that room key stopped working and had to get it reactivated.

I stayed at the Exe Norte five different times while visiting my company’s headquarters. The hotel is run efficiently with a pleasant, multilingual, and helpful staff. It is always clean, and the breakfast has a broad variety of fresh and prepared items (including gluten free) to please most people. The beds are firm vs. soft. Rooms have enough space to do work or just relax. I would not choose this as a leisure traveler as the hotel is on a highway, and a bus ride or long walk away from the metro. It takes a minimum of 30 minutes to get into the tourist areas of the city. As a business traveler who stays 1-2 weeks at a time, I am satisfied, but there are a few things that would make it better. The internet is inconsistent at best- this has not changed in three years! Don’t count on it for conference calls. Internet works right near the front desk, but by the time you walk back to your room it will drop. All of my work colleagues have the same problem, and the staff knows this. You can ask them for both the guest and the staff wifi, but it doesn’t help. The internet is the number one thing Exe needs to fix, as it is primarily a business hotel and internet is a basic necessity that just needs to work. There are very few restaurants (Honest Greens, Burger King, Popeyes, VIPS) within 1 mile to walk, so eating at the hotel or buying groceries are really your only choice. Having just one rotating or different food item every day for breakfast would be very appreciated. The lunch / dinner menu is more gourmet / fancy than comfort food, which is often what I seek when far from home or my stomach is upset. It would be great to have a very basic soup or simple salad as options. Allowing guests to eat their own food in the garden outside would also make it easier to stay here for more than 2 days.
