In a very close distance from Gran Vía and in a locality full of bars and restaurants. Might get a bit noisy from the street but nothing that you wouldn’t sort by closing the window. Simple, clean and tidy rooms, very friendly and helpful staff, available at any time to answer your questions or help. The only tricky part - hostel is on the second floor, with no lift (stretch yourself:) )

We recently stayed at Hostal Abami, and I was pleasantly surprised. It’s the first time I have stayed at such a place and I found it to be a good experience. The site was very clean, staff were friendly and standard of room was good, with all the basic facilities you need. Clean bedding, clean towels replaced daily, very clean room and reception area, very clean (but small) private W suite bathroom ..... all in all, it was real value for money and would stay here again if I went back to Madrid. Located just a couple of minutes walk from the main city centre, it’s in a great location for all of the main attractions and as previously mentioned, very friendly/helpful staff

Really great location, we were able to walk and get the train everywhere. We used Google maps to get there and had no trouble spotting it. We were a little early checking in, but they made our room priority and we only had to wait 15 mins. The owners didn't speak English but we managed to get by,... more

Really great location, we were able to walk and get the train everywhere. We used Google maps to get there and had no trouble spotting it. We were a little early checking in, but they made our room priority and we only had to wait 15 mins. The owners didn't speak English but we managed to get by, really quiet, even though doors are thin everyone was very respectful of others. TV but no English channels. Small bathroom but had everything could need and had a nice shower. Hairdryer in room was broken though. All very modern and new including air con unit and TV. Wifi worked fine. Our flight wasn't until the evening, but they were able to hold onto our bags for us. Would recommend and stay again as was hassle free and a good nights sleep. Only very slight negative was the bed was a little uncomfortable - wish there were separate pillows rather than just one long one which was a little hard - but then everyone's preferences are different! Rooms were very clean, but although no smoking our room stunk of stale cigarettes! The window was often left open by the cleaner, so not sure if it came in from outside, there isn't much air circulation in the room so was a little stuff / damp after shower. I'm asthmatic the first night it really troubled my breathing.

The good things are : the location is super convenient, very close to Grad Van, 15 mins walking distance to Sol plaza. with this price, it is worth staff are friendly and helpful, even prepare electric kettle for Asia and British people who like to have some hot tea and hot soap anytime..very sweet. all kinds of restaurants around, a Dia store at 1st floor, and 24 hours cafe shop around. The things I don't like too much are : located in an old building without elevator, if your luggage are not too big and too heavy, there will be no problem. room is small and simply but clean. don't forget to bring your own toiletries and a hairdryer. hairdryer doesn't work very well
