“Great Location on the Edge of the Old Town”

We stayed at Sansebay Hotel for two nights and had a very enjoyable stay. The only minor inconvenience was arriving by taxi. The hotel explained that some taxi drivers, especially those coming from outside San Sebastián, aren’t always familiar with the best drop-off point because of the hotel’s location on the edge of the Old Town. We ended up walking a short distance with our luggage, but it wasn’t a big issue. The location is definitely the hotel’s biggest selling point. Situated at the edge of the Old Town, it’s easy to explore every part of the city on foot. Head left and you’ll find the beautiful La Concha Promenade and beach. Walk in the other direction and you’ll reach the Urumea River Promenade, which leads into the Centro district with its elegant streets, shops, cafés, and landmarks like the Hotel Maria Cristina. It strikes a nice balance between being close to all the action while remaining quieter in the evenings. Our room was an adequate size, comfortable without being particularly spacious. The bathroom was well-sized and stocked with quality toiletries. We also had a small outdoor patio with a round table for two, which was a nice touch, although it didn’t offer much of a view. The reception staff were consistently friendly and helpful. They were happy to answer our questions, offer recommendations, and made us feel welcome throughout our stay. We also appreciated the welcome drink and the option to include breakfast, which made for a pleasant start to each day. Overall, Sansebay Hotel is a solid choice if location is your priority. While the rooms are fairly simple and the arrival by taxi can be a little confusing, the excellent location, friendly service, and easy access to both the Old Town and the rest of San Sebastián make it a hotel I’d recommend.

Just as the other reviews say. Great service and location but be aware of noise levels. The staff are all lovely- friendly,professional and helpful- a particular shout-out to Andreea. Just as the other reviews say. Great service and location but be aware of noise levels. The staff are all lovely- friendly,professional and helpful- a particular shout-out to Andreea. The hotel was full when I was there (in fact I got a last minute cancellation) as there was a big wedding happening in the beautiful church nearby (lucky couple!!) and many guests from Ireland were staying at the hotel. Service still seemed top notch. I personally might hesitate about staying there again,depending on room choice The higher sea view rooms would be nice, but can be expensive over weekends and likely get booked first. And as others say, lower rooms will be subject to noise from the surrounding streets. I also had very little natural light due to the ground and 1st floor back rooms facing onto a wall. Due to the bad weather I spent a fair bit of time in the room- but if you’re out all the time you might not notice of course. Oh, and book ahead! It’s understandably popular!

“Lovely hotel in a great location”

A lovely boutique hotel next to the sea in the old town. The rooms are clean and modern, good breakfast, helpful staff. The only downside is the noise over the weekend.

Lovely hotel and this was the fifth time we’ve stayed there as we like everything about it, rooms, staff and location are all excellent. A warning to make sure you know what you are booking as I accidentally booked an apartment at the back of the hotel with view at all. Although the booking page didn’t claim a sea/bay view it might be an idea to point out very clearly for an apartment costing €457 a night that there is no view at all, just a busy pedestrian thoroughfare immediately outside the only windows. We booked for three nights as a treat at the end of our holiday and the first night was good in a double room with a sea/bay view. We discovered the complete lack of view when we moved to the apartment on the second day. We did ask if we could move to any other room for the third (Sunday) night but this seemed to be impossible due to a minimum two night stay rule. We decided to book another hotel for the third night because although the apartment was well appointed it was very gloomy and not how we wanted to spend the last night of our holiday. We couldn’t get a refund as we were outside the refund period.
