For a start this is not a B & B. There is no breakfast, but that doesn't matter as there is a selection of cafes very close by. On street parking was not a problem, and the area feels safe. What it is, is a little, traditional and lovingly cared for, boutique hotel. Once through the door at #4, which is like a townhouse door, it is dark, cosy and you are surrounded by wonderful objects, collected by the owner, over the lifetime of his family which has owned the place for at least 3 generations. No lift, and the rooms which though small are furnished with taste and quality, have a very comforting feel about them. The owner himself, a cultured gentleman welcomes you, and has the courtesy, old fashioned manners and time to show you around his residence across the central courtyard. We explored and ate in town as recommended, and took a leisurely departure, after a long chat with the owner. Two things that detracted for us were the over-bath shower,which had no no-show surfacing, and no rail to grip, which frankly was dangerous with a glass half door over the bath, and the cash only payment as cards are not accepted. However, a thoroughly good, if not too short, stay.

A lovely renovated villa in the middle of Talavera. The city itself is a dump - for a place with some nice medieval features it does not sell itself well. However this review is for the hostel. It's small but well appointed, and well kept. There's a pretty courtyard for sitting in. The room was clean and the air con worked. No food, but none was advertised - we struggled to find anywhere appetising nearby. Basically I'd say stay away from Talavera if you can, but if you have to go there, this hostel is actually quite charming. A slight warning from a linguistically impaired adventurer - nobody here speaks any English.

We drove around the rather run down looking village, in parts, looking for our accommodation, luckily we had a GPS otherwise we just couldn't have imagined this charming hosteria where it was placed. An older gentleman dressed in a suit and tie greeted us. Walking into the most unusual vestibule we were instantly charmed with our choice of accommodation. The house has certainly been where it is for many years, and the town has grown around it! The owner's wife showed us their personal patio which was lovely with a large lemon tree, a well and an ancient oven. There is a lovely terrace for guests, and the rooms with a balcony open up to the terrace. There are only 4 bedrooms in the whole home! The bedrooms are all individual and tasteful, but rather worn in places. I'm sure maintaining this house needs a huge amount of money. Still we all enjoyed it and appreciated the personal welcome and effort that went into making our visit enjoyable. No food available in this home you need to eat out!
