We loved our stay. We booked this hotel for a four night break in Alicante. Tip: As you approach the hotel, the first one says Meliá Alicante, inside by Melia Alicante port is the next one along! Don’t do what we did and stand in a que trying to check in at the wrong hotel (oops!) Location: It’s located on the port, the two pools, restaurant and bar have amazing views looking out to the sea. It’s in walkable distance to everything the restaurants, bars, the castle, the beach. We got the bus from the airport for less than 5 euros each and it dropped us right outside the stretch to the hotel. Room: We paid extra for a loft room with sea view, we didn’t need two balconies but it was a lovely bonus! The rooms come equipped with everything you need; hairdryer, shampoo, conditioner, body wash and iron. We loved the super cosy dressing gowns and slippers, great touch. The rooms had a free mini bar which was replenished everyday, they included juices, waters, beer and lemonade. The beds were so comfy and pillows just right (which is hard to come across) we watched TV one of the nights but it’s not something we’re bothered about on holiday. The room was so spacious, and the bath overlooking the sea really dreamy! Food: We can’t comment as we didn’t book with breakfast. We wanted to eat at the restaurants but for me the GF options were limited, I did ask the pool bar if they had gluten free bread but they didn’t so my options were peppers or potatoes. Maybe something they can consider. Drinks: Well priced, lovely wine, sangria is just fanta lemon and red wine ‘tinto verano’ so I’d save this choice for your more authentic restaurants nearby who do it the traditional way. We loved the little bowls of nuts and sweets they gave with the drinks - again, great touch. Spa: Beautiful and worth adding on to your booking. We did the 90 minute circuit without treatments and felt so rejuvenated when we came out. They don’t overbook it so there’s enough space to go round it a few times, brave the cold plunge pool, I dare you! Staff and the hotel itself: Welcoming, friendly, attentive staff. The hotel is immaculate and well run. Everything is modern. Upon check in we were given lots of useful information about the surroundings and local events. Pools: One pool is shaded after lunch time, and all the loungers around it remain in the shade, with being next to the sea when you’re in the shade (in April) it’s a bit chilly. The second pool (level 1) we overlooked this from our room and watched as people reserved beds as soon as it opened. Them people, typically, don’t move all day. So you have to be quick and get up early if you want a few hours round the pool. It gets the sun until 4ish but people move their beds with the sun so it can get cramped and it’s like an assault course to get out if you’re at the back. Despite this, the views here are amazing and wait is never too long at the bar. Facilities: We didn’t use the gym, but it looked well equipped and overlooked the sea. You can store your stuff after check out until your flight and there’s plenty of space in the toilets to get sorted. You can purchase some of the things provided in your room (dressing gowns/mugs/etc.) Thank you for an amazing stay! We will 100% be back and keep this chain in mind for our next trip.
