“Location location location”

Lovely hotel situated in the perfect spot for wonderful cafes, restaurants and shops. Staff were excellent and breakfast was good. We stayed in standard twin rooms and they were ideal with great showers, yes gets a bit noisy with the bells but easy to shut out

The hotel is in a great location for walking. The old town shopping area, restaurants, and palace are all right there. The hotel is definitely quirky, bordering on junky. Our room was a large corner room with lots of windows. The hotel doesn't have air conditioning so keep that in mind if you're visiting in the summer. We were fairly comfortable in the middle of August. In the afternoons, they put out cute tables and chairs and you can buy wine and sit outside. Breakfast is good, nothing spectacular but plenty of food and a cute breakfast room. The front desk staff is very friendly and helpful with recommendations. We had trouble getting an Uber at 6a. You need to walk to the end of the street because they can't come up to the restricted roads around the hotel. Even with that, there appears to be a lot of road construction and closed roads and we had 2 drivers give up and cancel our ride before the 3rd finally made it. If you have a tight schedule, you should consider a taxi, which can come directly to the hotel.

It's in a fabulous location within the Old Town, close to lots of restaurants, bars & tourist attractions. The hotel itself is really beautiful with loads of character & a unique decorative style. The communal areas have lots of traditional paintings & and objects, which make it interesting & quirky. The majority of the staff were extremely friendly & helpful. We booked into a small double room, which turned out to be a massive mistake. The room really should be classed as a single as there practically wasn't enough room for 2 people. The bed was so close to the opposite wall that we had to shimmy past it to get to the window & only one of us could comfortably get dressed at the same time as the standing space was so limited. The rooms at the front have the very unfortunate benefit of hearing the nearby church tower ring its bells every 15 minutes, even through the night, so no sleep was gained. Needless to say, we upgraded to a larger, back facing room after the 1st night at a cost to us. Even though our 2nd room was far superior & quite lovely, the storage facilities in both rooms were lacking. There are no drawers & the only area for storing clothes was an open wooden bar structure with space for hanging clothes. There was also no space for storing a suitcase. The breakfast was adequate but quite uninspiring & some of the products were of low quality e.g. the cold meat, apple juice & sliced cheese. At the weekend, there was a definite reduction in the items being replenished timeously with long waits in between. There were some 'hot' items. however, we found them mostly without lids, so they were lukewarm. Lastly, one member of the reception staff was extremely rude to us without explanation. My husband booked & utilised the sauna. Later that day, a receptionist with bobbed blonde hair asked us in an aggressive manner why he had booked it if he wasn't going to use it. My husband assured her he had used it, but she continued to be accusatory to the point of it being uncomfortable. What my huband didn't say was that when he went into the sauna, there was an unflushed toilet & used tissues on the floor, which he had to tidy before he used it himself. It soured our stay.   Small Double Room (140 cm bed)
