We are a French family of 5 from Lille and during the uncertain times of COVID in February 2021, we decided to plan a week-long trip to Swedish Lapland within a two-week delay. We found out about True Nature Sweden on the internet and contacted William to help us organize the trip of our dreams. He was very informed and helped us choose from a multitude of options to what suited us best—a lodge in the nature near Kiruna, which was above the polar circle so even better for seeing the northern lights (which was one of our wishes). We also got to choose a variety of activities to fill up the week. William is clearly well-connected within the tourism industry and as such has many experiences to offer, all with knowledgeable insight as he himself has done many of these experiences. He was able to offer us a 48-hour full refund policy, which was an incredible comfort in the midst of COVID. When we got to the airport, Franziska—the owner of the Lappeasuando lodge—was waiting to pick us all up. A very pleasant and kind person, Franziska happily answered all of our questions and proved to be very responsive to our needs. It was a very well-kept cute and cozy lodge in the heart of Lapland (we had two rooms amongst us). It was extremely cold upon our arrival (-17 degrees) and we came very prepared, but even we took advantage of the equipements of Lappeasuando lodge with one-piece snowsuits, gloves, and boots in all the sizes imaginable! Every day we had delicious meals (breakfast, lunch, and dinner) at the cafeteria. The two days of dogsledding with the wonderful guides as well as spending one night at the wilderness lodge, even further disconnected from the modern world, was incredible. We liked snowmobiling, so much so that we wanted to do it again on our second-to-last day. We told Franziska about this, and even though they were booked, she got into contact with colleagues and they were able to transport us to the snowmobiling near Kiruna. We had great activity and movement-filled days whether it be hiking (snowshoes), cross-country skiing, ice fishing, dog sledding, snowmobiling and most importantly: sightseeing. After a long day in the cold taiga, we would go to the sauna with Swedish beer and cool off between rounds in the ice-cold snow, all whilst looking for the Northern lights (which we were able to see every night in the second half of the week). It was literally a once-in-a-lifetime experience! Note: we were very lucky to be able to see the Northern lights during our week-long stay as it depends on many factors to be able to see them. All in all, Franziska and her team deserve nothing but success in the way they operate: kindness, responsiveness, adaptability……

“Lapplands most cozy Stuga”

Wanna have an rexaing time in an cozy wooden house? Need a break within pure nature? Love to cook eggs and ham on an wooden stove? Then this litte stuge at the Lappeasuando Lodge in Sweden Lapland might be your place. I had a very enjoying time here.

Wonderful stay. Fabulous staff and food, fulfilling outdoor activities. The place to go if you would like to see the northern lights and enjoy the Artic way of life. I loved my stay at this place so much that I booked it a second time a couple of years later to see the midnight sun.

What a fabulous place. It is situated brilliantly with immediate access to forest trails and lakes, I’ve never seen stars so bright. What a fabulous place. It is situated brilliantly with immediate access to forest trails and lakes, I’ve never seen stars so bright. We got to see the Northern Lights (the previous week someone said they were every night). The food is excellent, hearty, the chefs Niels and Bart were keen to please. There’s a real home from home air about the place, very informal, very relaxed. From a practical point of view, if you are prone to cold hands then definitely bring some hand warmers (not just gloves) and note your electric toothbrush charger may be useless....and bring a travel kettle if you like a brew first thing. The Lodge provide the most amazing boots, we did not have cold feet the whole time. Like everyone, we fell in love with the huskies and our trips with them were the highlight. Whilst you are not forced to partake in any of the activities, and you don’t have to be super fit, you do need a reasonable degree of physical fitness to make the most of it. Likewise, if you don’t like dogs, you won’t get the most out of the husky trip, as helping to harness them and feed them (and cuddle them) is all part of it. We are sitting here in the airport looking at the photos we took and wishing we were still there. Thank you Francesca and the team. Would love to come back and would not hesitate to recommend.
