Everything is very nice, this is my second visit from Italy, but overall I'm dissatisfied with the restaurant and housekeeping services, given the overall standard of the property. The housekeeping service is rather poor—the area under the window and behind the radiator grille hasn't been cleaned in years—and some details are dilapidated, like the baseboards in the hallways are damaged because the staff probably bump their trolleys against them. In the restaurant, there are long waits, incorrect dishes, and a lack of knowledge of the dishes. The breakfast was very good and plentiful, as were the experiences and the rest.

“Wonderful spa and service, with a few details to improve”

We stayed at this spa hotel for one night and overall had a really lovely experience. The hotel is absolutely beautiful and the Japanese bath was a real highlight. We also really enjoyed the swimming pools, saunas, and the massage, which was excellent and very relaxing. The service throughout our stay was great, and we especially loved the little shop with Japanese items. We ended up buying quite a few gifts there. There were just a few things that could be improved. The pillows in the room were not comfortable at all, they felt like sleeping on a bag full of clothes. The bed was also a bit disappointing because the double bed was actually two single beds pushed together. Sleeping in the middle felt uncomfortable, like you might slip between the mattresses. The teppanyaki dinner did not fully meet our expectations. Some of the dishes were really good, but others felt a bit confusing or out of place. For example, the cold noodles did not quite fit with the rest of the menu. We had a seven course dinner and I would say that only about three dishes really stood out, while the others were quite average. It would also be good to make it clearer to guests that drinks are not included, not even soft drinks, so everything needs to be paid separately. The dessert, although very tasty, was extremely small, just a spoonful of ice cream. Even with these points, we still had a very good stay. The atmosphere, the facilities, and the service made it a special experience. With a few improvements, especially to the bedding and the teppanyaki menu, it could be truly excellent.

Maybe part of the reason we ended up with an average rating for our stay at Yasuragi was the high expectations set by other guests and the package that we had chosen (vardagspaus). The venue and most of the staff were lovely but for the weekday break with stricter check-in (17.00) and check-out (9.00) times felt rushed and ruined some of the experience we wanted to have for us as we were worried we were not going to have time to experience what we paid for. While the food was great at Minamo, there was a contrast to the service attitude of the waiting staff that was a bit awkward for us. While our food was part of the package, we would have expected more from this level of establishment. The baths are wonderful and the outdoor hot springs definitely the main event, but there were empty glasses and bottles littered throughout the spa table surfaces that gave an unclean impression in an otherwise clean establishment. Knowing what we know now, we would have opted for a different package to facilitate better check-in/out schedule and more time to enjoy the establishment. For now, we did not get to experience what we had hoped and I'm not sure if there is a significant benefit to even offer guests the vardagspaus over a normal overnight stay package.
