First of all, I have to give the biggest shoutout to Daniel and Diana! Our trio started off rough when I somehow left my backpack in the taxi with some super important items. Daniel and Diana did everything they could to help me figure out how to call the taxi company and put me at ease - then when I got it back they seemed so relieved which made you know they cared. Couldn’t have had better people trying to get me through a stressful time. They are the best and I knew my stay would be great if they were the first to greet you. As for the rooms, they’re a little quirky if you’re used to typical Marriott hotels. But it’s just a different experience and does the trick once you get used to it. You can ask for some extra amenities if you need it, and whoever is at the reception can help you quickly. The hotel is close enough to central station to walk but a little further from the old town, though still walkable. Breakfast is great! Has something for everyone and I strongly recommend you choose the breakfast with your stay. Overall, a solid stay with caring folks to make your stay pleasurable. I’m

We stayed at the Miss Clara Hotel in Stockholm for three fantastic nights while on vacation. Stockholm is a great city to explore, and the Miss Clara made it even better. The hotel is well-located, features stylish and comfortable rooms, and a very good restaurant where we enjoyed breakfast each morning before starting our busy days. The staff is fantastic - in particular thank you Amanda at the front desk for your suggestions and Ice in the restaurant for your warm hospitality! A great holiday made even better thanks to the Miss Clara!

The hotel is very well located with great access to Stockholm and a metro station very near. The staff were so helpful and friendly at all times. Contacting them before and during the stay was so easy by email and they responded fast, I couldn’t ask for more. The building and interior are stylish. If arriving late at night it’s quite hard to get in as the door is locked and the staff don’t man reception all night. You can easily get in once you have a keycard but this isn’t possible of course when checking in. There was a very small gym, I didn’t use it but tried the sauna once but had to leave as it had a sign saying it takes 45 mins to warm up. Breakfast was good, a nice selection including various local delicacies and the food was good quality. Everything including hot drinks are self service. It can get busy on weekends but no surprise there. The room we had was one level above the basic room and was on the top floor, not facing the street after I read this would be noisy. It faced an office/apartment block. It was fairly well sized but there were some odd and inconsiderate design choices which have dragged my review score down. The bathroom was quite spacious but the shower was very weak, in an enclosure with gaps at the bottom. The first night this meant the water flooded the entire bathroom as the shower didn’t stay straight. The toiletries were all Byredo and very nice. The bathroom had a transparent big glass window in the door, with a transparent net curtain covering it. Why on earth does a hotel designer think this is a good idea? To walk past and see someone on the toilet? The same can be said for the exterior windows with very transparent thin curtains meaning they’d get a nice view when it was dark and the lights were on. The bed was comfortable, but it was effectively two single mattresses pushed together, each with their own duvet as is typical in Scandinavian countries (and a good idea!). Nice soft pillows which didn’t leave your neck at an awkward angle. Absolutely no other amenities in the room-no slippers, no water, no tea or coffee machine. Iron on request but a very lacklustre steam-less iron (essentially a hot plate) which does almost nothing. I think this was mostly down to ‘sustainability’ but somewhere to refill water in the hotel lobby or on each floor would have ticked this box. The curtains didn’t block much light and with the big window in the bathroom door, light streamed in from there too into the room, even though there’s a curtain you can pull across (by the way, this curtain isn’t practical to give you privacy in the bathroom /on the toilet as you can’t open the door with it drawn) Storage was ok, some drawers provided and open hanging space near the door for a few items. A mini fridge built into one of the cupboards which is handy, as well as a safe. Overall I’d recommend it. Just pick your room carefully and be prepared for a lack of bathroom privacy if sharing a room, very little protection from light and some weird design choices.

Too Long Didn’t Read / TLDR: This luxury converted school has kept its boutique charm, despite being part of the Marriott family. Rooms are small by even European standards, so be aware of that, they are functional but not without their quirks. The hotel is located about 10-15mins walk from Stockholm Central Station, and well within walking distance of most of the central attractions, the Metro station (Hötorget) is just a few mins away on the same road, and if you are arriving at the hotel by Metro then make sure you exit at Olof Palmes Gata, and head right to the tunnelgatan exit for the quickest route to the hotel. - The Good; I was upgraded at check in by the most wonderfully welcoming check in staff I think I’ve ever experienced at a hotel! What a team! Even on the courtyard facing rooms, you can hear the absolutely wonderful church bell musical chimes during the daytime from the nearby St Johannes kyrk, so make sure you're in the room to hear it at least once! Whilst there was no wardrobe there are lot of hooks, which is ideal for me, perhaps not for others. But I always bemoan the lack of hooks in a hotel room, so I was happy. The bed was super comfortable, and deployed the Scandinavian ‘two single duvets’ rule, but I’d have preferred to have had an extra pillow, another thing you had to call down for (more on this later) The room was spotlessly clean, and I mean *spotless* - hats off to housekeeping. It had some of the biggest bath sheet towels I’ve ever seen in my life, new and very fluffy. It genuinely felt luxurious taking a shower. The toiletries were also excellent. - 
The Not So Good: Being a ‘Design Hotel’ not all the Marriott benefits are in play alas, so no free breakfast, and late checkout is not guaranteed. I knew this before staying, but may come as a shock to folks new to the ‘Design Hotel’ T&Cs. There is no lock on the door, or safety catch, just the keycard lock. This is a personal preference, but I felt there weren’t enough plug sockets in the room. There was however plug sockets behind the curtains, which I assumed used to power the kettle / coffee maker which now isn’t in the room, but instead available by request. Similarly, there is a fully stocked minibar, even with champagne... but no glasses that I could see. I do get that you get told that you can ask for anything that isn’t in the room at front desk, but to have to ask for a kettle or a glass is a bit much - especially as the hotel do not use the Marriott app messaging system. It left me feeling like you aren’t trusted with the things, and was a rare mis-step with the hotel I thought. - The Weird: The biggie was that there is a full blown clear glass window between the bed, and the bathroom (there is a net curtain to pull across, but it provides next to zero modesty!). I imagine this feature is a marmite (love it or hate it) feature. Now thankfully the toilet is in a separate, non glazed*, room, but I feel that without this design feature and a proper all-in-one bathroom, the rooms could have been configured to allow more space than they offer. The two room bathroom area takes up quite a lot of real-estate. *all the bathroom doors are frosted glass, just the thing to wake up your significant other during the night! Other weird design choices are the chair back that is screwed on at the end of the bed. I still couldn’t quite work out what it was for, other than aesthetics. Anyone know? Answers on a postcard. Something weird with the air system (I don’t believe it is Air Conditioned) It had a button to force ventilation but it just tripped back off within a few mins and the heat kept climbing even tho it was set to ‘minus’ on the dial. Thankfully the windows opening balanced the room a bit. The light switches have a mind of their own, I never managed to work out which one did what. One of the drawers had robes, but not slippers. So I didn’t feel I could go down to the Sauna which I really wanted to try. - the useful info; The windows in this hotel do indeed open, limited by a safety tether but enough to let in cool clean air. Phone signal wise, there was 2 bars of signal on Tele2 on 5G, 2 bars of signal on Telenor on 4G. Data rates fine on both. Wifi was also available. - In Summary: This is a really pleasant hotel, which oozes luxury at every turn. I was sad not to experience things like the sauna during this stay, but hopefully on my next visit (I'll bring my own disposable slippers in readiness!) The team do a really great job at both being welcoming, and the housekeeping. I will certainly return here.
