Stayed for business in this interesting place. You can definitely sense the history of the place. Not convinced that everything ties together perfectly, but I enjoyed my stay here. The lovely balcony overlooking lots of greenery, blue sky and birds singing was really relaxing. The room itself was OK. Staff were friendly enough and breakfast was good. Plenty of parking space and nice areas close by to walk….

“Charming and in many respects grand”

Magnificent old "kurhaus" - health resort - from fin du siècle. Built in 1909 and well kept with still many facilities for "healthy baths" - nowadays called spa... The public areas are grand with the old jugend/art deco interiors preserved. A treat to sit in the original furniture with a coffee aft… more

Magnificent old "kurhaus" - health resort - from fin du siècle. Built in 1909 and well kept with still many facilities for "healthy baths" - nowadays called spa... The public areas are grand with the old jugend/art deco interiors preserved. A treat to sit in the original furniture with a coffee after dinner. Rooms fairly modern and renovated to a more or less basic standard. But comfortable and with what you need for a night or two. Beds fine. No AC. The very mini "mini bar" was presented on a table instead of in a fridge. Who wants warm white wine or mineral water? Better use the restaurant bar instead. The onboard restaurant (called "Arvid's restaurant") is not as beautiful as the jugend parlors, but in any case stylish enough for enjoying a meal. The menu is short, which can be a sign of quality and ambition. In this case however it more reflected the sparse intentions of the kitchen. Nothing particularly gastronomic: a meat-, fish- and vegetarian dish along with the never ending burgers... OK, but nothing more. A waitress, stressed under the summer heat, didn't help up the atmosphere while she reproved some guests for crossing the line at her entrance counter. Nah.. Breakfast OK, but a tad under standard. Surprising. We had it outside though on the paved terrace in the back yard. Nice. On the whole a nice experience. The main building and the surrounding atmosphere is worth the visit.

“Very nice setting and attentive staff”

Spent a week at this historical hotel. Lovely setting in a green lush park with easy hiking trails. Good size rooms and very quiet. I only had time to try a massage at the spa - very professionally done and good technique. The breakfast was very good and also tried lunch, dinner and room service. C… more

Spent a week at this historical hotel. Lovely setting in a green lush park with easy hiking trails. Good size rooms and very quiet. I only had time to try a massage at the spa - very professionally done and good technique. The breakfast was very good and also tried lunch, dinner and room service. Consistently good quality and well prepared. Wouldn’t hesitate to stay/eat here again. Only negative was the lumpy pillows but that would be very easy to remedy. In addition free parking and public transport near by.

Quaint hotel, however the room was basic, with very small bathroom. Not the best view from the room. Food was good at both breakfast and dinner, however the staff could be friendlier and we found other guests rude and impatient at breakfast. Parking at times had to be at the conference centre as people did not park considerately.
