I cannot say enough good things about our stay at the Eiger Murren. We were there for my 40th birthday and the staff went out of their way to make it so special. The room was very comfortable with incredible views, everyone was so kind, daily breakfast was incredible and the amenities (pool, sauna, outdoor space, etc.) were fantastic and great for families. I hope I'm lucky enough to stay here again!

I have travelled to the Jungfrau region many times and stayed in various hotels in Wengen and Murren and also Interlaken and always had good Swiss service, but my recent stay last month at the Eiger hotel in Murren was exceptional. Firstly, I was met by the porter quite by surprise at Murren station who helped with my heavy luggage and took me to the hotel by car. Thank you to the porter for your impeccable service. I was then greeted by the reception staff whilst my luggage was taken directly to my room. What a fantastic start to my holiday, made to feel so welcome. My room was beautiful. Spacious and clean with a terrace with views of the mountains. Nice and warm too around the clock. Nice bathroom with bath and shower and everything one could want. The hotel was a perfect location for the railway station, and a nice pleasant and peaceful quiet village of Murren. Reception staff were so kind and helpful and really made one comfortable and at home and would go out of their way to do anything for you to make ones stay memorable. There were a few steps up to the main doors of the hotel, but there was also a slope at the side of the hotel for anyone who required it. Dining room staff were little gems. You were made to feel welcome ,and I was really looked after during meal times and the staff were very friendly and attentive, and professional. Excellent choice of meals and cooked to perfection. Thank you very much to all the staff including the chefs for such lovely meals. You work so hard as a excellent team together. I did not go to the bar, but did see the bar staff from time to time passing through the hotel, who were very polite. I do like the lovely smiles that you get from all the staff. The Eiger is the best ever experience I have ever had and the service is impeccable. First class. Well done to everyone at the Eiger. You have a perfect team. I really did enjoy my stay and I cannot wait to long before I come again, hopefully I may see you all again February 27.. THANK YOU. Now, a little about the Jungfrau region for travellers who have not been before. Firstly, here is your hotel: The Eiger, Murren in this nice peaceful quiet village of Murren. I highly recommend. Murren has easy access from the Lauterbrunnen via cable car, and then by a waiting train at Grushalp to Murren, about 20 minutes journey. At the other end of Murren village, a short walk is another cable car station. Here one can go to the shilthorn, Piz Gloria where James bond made the film on her majesty's secret service. There is also a revolving restaurant and café snack bar and a sphinx where you can take beautiful photos of the mountains. The Jungfrau and the Eiger. Check weather conditions before setting off on your room tv on the panoramic channel live camaras. Cost: if you have half fare Swiss card about 45 CHF. Great day out. There is also the Jungfrau. Excursion goes from the Kline shy degg station above Wengen. You can get the cog railway from Lauterbrunnen to Kline shy degg from track 3 and buy tickets for the Jungfrau on a machine or at the Lauterbrunnen ticket office. Remember, use a half fare Swiss card if you have one, or you could find it expensive, but worth it. Walk slowly as the air is thin. This is where you will get some smashing photos from the sphinx . You get to travel through the famous Eiger mountain too. Wengen and Interlaken are other villages to visit and well worth it. Interlaken is the main area for shops. Travel to Interlaken east (Ost, then walk or catch a bus outside station to Interlaken west for 4 francs per person and all the shops are there. Lastly, there are many walks around the Jungfrau region, starting with the Lauterbrunnen valley. From the station walk through the village and you will come to the pathway through the valley. may take a couple of hours to complete, but at the end of the valley, you come to a cable car station. Here you can get the cable car up to Murren or catch a bus to the Lauterbrunnen station and on from there or up to Murren via that cable car and short journey on train to Murren. If you have chosen to stay at this highly recommended hotel, the Eiger in Murren, then if you like walks, there is one immediately left as you come out of the hotel which will take about 1 hour and 40 minutes to two hours and will take you to Winteregg and then on to the cable car station at Grushalp down to Lauterbrunnen. It is a really good easy walk and quiet and pleasant. If one gets tired, you can get the train either direction from Winteregg. You can also do a long walk from the Kline shy degg to Wengen village, and further down if one is fit to the Lauterbrunnen rail station. If snowy conditions, always follow the walking routes which are sign posted throughout on all walks, and careful as some paths cross with skiers. Enjoy your holiday in the Jungfrau region summer or Winter. Plenty to do.

What an amazing stay! We came here after Zermatt and wished we had just coke herem The hotel is wonderfully located in Mürren, which is the cutest town with so much to do around it. The hotel is comfortable, with truly gourmet dining with impecable service and the owner checking in and ensuring your delight. Our room had a wonder-full (not just wonderful) view of the mountains. Bed comfortable and a powerful shower (best on our vacation!) Breakfast was delcious and the hotel bar had nightly entertainment. We were so happy, we have committed to come back for our next milestone anniversary.
