Hotel Edelweiss delivers refined alpine elegance with a strong sense of tradition – the kind that feels intentional and impeccably maintained rather than dated. Everything is beautifully kept, from the rooms to the generous communal and lounge areas, which are genuinely inviting and ideal for relaxing at the end of the day. This is a hotel that understands comfort and calm, without needing to shout about it. The communal spaces are a real strength. Thoughtfully designed, warm and spacious, they encourage you to slow down – whether that’s with a drink, a book, or simply enjoying the surroundings. It feels quietly luxurious and very well run. Breakfast is excellent – high quality, plentiful and exactly what you want from a hotel of this standard. The on-site spa is also a welcome bonus: not vast, but well executed and perfect for a short wind-down after travelling or a day out in the mountains. The only drawback was the bed, which was extremely firm and not particularly conducive to a great night’s sleep. Sleep matters so this did impact on our stay. That aside, the overall experience was a strong one. In summary, Hotel Edelweiss offers traditional Swiss hospitality done properly – elegant, calm and immaculately presented, with excellent shared spaces, a standout breakfast and a spa that adds real value to the stay.

In general my stay was great. The location was perfect for hikes. The outside seating was perfect for a sunny day. My room was comfortable, quiet, and clean. The lounge where we had pre dinner drinks was comfortable. The breakfast was excellent. The staff- in the restaurant and lounge was attentive and fun. The dinners were mediocre at best. The cheese plate for dessert was delicious, the salad bar had good fresh foid, and an excellent choice of vinegars, the starter course was usually good but the main courses were bad. Tasteless and overcooked meat and veggie is the best I can say about the mail courses.

Best way to describe Hotel Edelweiss is inconsistent in every thing they do. It started when we checked in, we had bad jet lag and asked for some decaf coffee, the front desk clerk said absolutely. No one ever showed up that night or the next morning, so I called down to the front desk and politely asked for some decaf, the front desk clerk replied “Why, breakfast will be served at 7am”. I put on my shoes and rushed down to confront him, he rudely told me “I’m just the night guy, I don’t know where the coffee is.” I just walked away irritated. Later we went to one of their nicest restaurants and had the nicest, funniest and really good waiter but the food was really bad. Not worth the price, it was expensive even in Switzerland standards. Next day, we get out early to do some hiking, we return to the hotel and find a bunch of irritated aggressive people in the parking lot fighting over the maybe 10 spots clearly marked HOTEL EDELWEISS, once again I walk inside and explain the situation, the front desk clerk (different one) said “There are plenty of spots”, I replied show me. He rudely scoffs and walks outside, he clearly sees the hornets nest building in the parking lot and points to parking spots not labeled HOTEL Edelweiss, he again rudely says “those are our spots too” and walked away. The people in the lot look at us and say “Sure would be nice if they labeled those two to prevent this confusion” I 100% agree but they seem not to care. The good- If you stay more than 2 days you get free admission to the local gondolas. -The hotel is very nice, located right on a cute little stream. In my opinion this hotel did not meet my expectations, was overpriced for the value and therefore we’ll never be back to any Hotel Edelweiss. Do yourself a favor, look elsewhere before they ruin the vibe for you too. -
