We just returned from a spectacular trip to Zermatt. We stayed at the Hotel Firefly, which was perfect in every way. While all of the rooms are classified as "suites", they vary greatly in size. We stayed in the smallest, which is classified as a Junior suite. This is essentially what most American hotels would classify as a Studio. For a ski resort, it was generously sized. The bed was comfortable, and the kitchen was well-equipped. We cooked in on several nights, which saved us money in this pricy resort town. In fact, our room included everything we could possibly need, including fluffy robes, flip flops, and a small backpack to haul our extra gear while we skied. We enjoyed the delicious breakfast, which was delivered each morning at our pre-selected time. The pool, hot tub, and sauna were stunningly contemporary (and uncrowded during our visit). Bar 55 was cozy and fun. We LOVED having a private Raclette (or fondue is available, as well) dinner in their wine cellar (reserve ahead of your stay). The staff was amazing - friendly and helpful! The location was great - situated a 10-minute walk to town and a 7-minute walk (in the other direction) to the Matterhorn Gondola. We got a ride in their electric "pink panther" van each way to the train station (let them know your arrival time). The feel was casual, the decor was upscale, and the vibe was just right.

This was our second trip to Zermatt and our first time staying at Hotel Firefly. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay, It was the perfect location for quick access to the cable car to the upper mountain ski areas and centrally located for a nice walk to city center. The rooms were comfy and roomy. We stayed in a junior suite with a nice view. The staff were very friendly and accommodating. There is a very cool bar for après ski and a relaxing night cap. The spa and gym are very well laid out with good equipment and sauna systems. We will definitely stay there again on our next adventure.

“Our favourite place in Zermatt!”

The rooms are spacious and beautiful and the service is great. It’s the 3rd time we visit and we love it! We will definitely return.

The spa area is incredible. Sauna, hot tub, indoor pool and all areas were the highlight of our stay. The spa area is incredible. Sauna, hot tub, indoor pool and all areas were the highlight of our stay. The ski room was ideal and its a close walk to the Matterhorn Glacier Paradise gondola/ski access (7 minutes in ski boots). As a family with late teen, we expected to use the bar/lounge with pool table but it was quite full of families with younger children and the times that we walked through, there wasn't any seating. This could have been because most of Europe seemed to still be on Winter break ... but it limited our use of the "public" area and vision of cozying up for apres ski drinks. Note, there's no food on property aside from breakfast delivery to your room. The apartment was big, the breakfast was lovely. You can walk to grocery store and into town in 3-5 minutes tops. It was the highlight of our 3 week tour de IKON ski trip.
