Matterhorn FOCUS Hotel was a dream come true! I first spotted the hotel in 2024, whilst riding the Gondola up to Matterhorn Glacier Paradise. I said to myself "I have to come back and stay there!" In May 2026, that dream came true for me and my partner. From the moment we booked the hotel (7 days/nights) - the service was stellar - instant email from the parent hosts, and deposits and schedules made clear. I want to note that from the very beginning, we were welcomed as a gay couple with no awkwardness whatsoever. We arrived in Zermatt at the station and we were met by Eduardo, who drove us in the FOCUS-specific electric taxi up to hills to the hotel proper. There, he drove us through the underground tunnel and our fantasy world began! Riding up the elevator we were transported to another world of design, comfort, and elegant atmosphere. There we were met by Kristina, who promptly invited us to sit and relax by the fire, with a glass of champagne - all before we got into any booking /reservation details. From there, she showed us around the immaculately designed and sometimes whimsical hotel - the spa, the breakfast area, the ski room, pool area, etc. Everything was well thought-out and considered. Our room was just spectacular - views of the Matterhorn, and the Gondola system - natural light from top-to bottom, in-room soaking tub, deck, couch, super-comfortable bed, windows that opened to fresh alpine air - spacious shower, heated floors - everything you could ask for. They even gave us a bottle of wine, some snack and chocolates, fresh bowl of fruit, and a bottle of champagne. After a day of skiing, or walking around town - coming back to our room as always a treat. We never once heard any annoying noise or other guests walking around, etc. It was always so peaceful and serene. The staff there was incredibly friendly and helpful, and we really appreciated the personal touches, and the 'honor system' for access to drinks and snacks. Our room was always made-up and clean, and our belongings respected. We can't wait to come back! Thank you FOCUS, for making our trip so wonderful. See you in 2027! (we hope)

“A very convenient hotel for skiing.”

Perfect location, only 3 min walk to the cable car Matterhorn express! Very nice breakfast, specially honey with real honeycomb. Nice spa, but be ready to see naked people in sauna.

Wonderful stay as always. The service is unobtrusive but attentive. Without needing to ask, our preferred coffees were served every morning at breakfast. Delicious, high quality offerings at the breakfast buffet. Modern rooms with all details you would expect, and some pleasant surprises - complime… more

Wonderful stay as always. The service is unobtrusive but attentive. Without needing to ask, our preferred coffees were served every morning at breakfast. Delicious, high quality offerings at the breakfast buffet. Modern rooms with all details you would expect, and some pleasant surprises - complimentary wine and chocolates in the room. The beds are very comfortable, the rooms are spacious and have excellent views of the Matterhorn. The standards have never slipped here and the hotel retain their staff - always a great sign.

Such a wonderful hotel! From the beautiful interiors to the excellent breakfast spread, cosy spa area (complete with an outdoor pool), and outstanding staff service, everything made for a fantastic stay in Zermatt. Being just a minute away from the ski gondola, something we didn’t realise before booking, was the cherry on top. The hotel is located at the top of town, slightly away from the centre, but if you don’t feel like taking a scenic walk, there’s a bus stop right outside the hotel. A special thank you to the wonderful staff team, who looked after us so kindly after a slight medical emergency. Definitely will be returning!
