The registration staff were extremely efficient and helpful through the duration of our stay. Maid service was exceptional. We were delighted with the Jr. Suite upgrade and relieved that this lake view room on the main street was quiet. The hotel has class, and the staff has polish. Situated on the lake near the opera house, but not far walking distance to the quaint old town.

“A very nice place to discover Zürich!”

The room was pretty clean (with wooden floor+++, fed up with those disgusting carpets that you find in lotsa hotels!, no one puts those things at home anymore, the 70s are over!) service was good, lake view is very nice, and breakfast very good. In addtion, the centre is very close.

good location at the lakeside, five minutes walking from the zurich opera. many good restaurants and bars are at a walking distance very professional service good room: clean and in good condition, elegantly decorated, good size, with minibar, coffee maker, a good bed, good bathroom with good amenities, more than sufficient storage capacity in the wardrobes, good lightning. in my case, a small balcony with a table and two chairs overlooking the lake (these rooms are more expensive than the city view ones) soundproofing was excellent: no noises were heard in the room neither from the corridor nor from the street once the balcony was closed free wifi worked well, but loggin in was complicated breakfast was good with the exception of scrambled eggs, too dry and hard dogs are allowed for 30 francs per night the hotel does not have its own carpark, but the valet parking can do it for 40 euros i did not try the restaurant. i did not try either the sauna and fitness facilities the price was clearly below zurich standards for this category of hotel, so the value for money was excellent certainly recommended, but i was told the the hotel will unfortunately close in the next months

Let me start by saying that knowing we were traveling as a family of four, the Steigenberger Bellerive au Lac in Zurich did a great job placing us in a very large room. But for the rates they charge, the breakfast is joke and it feels like the entire hotel is run by 4 people who are always in chats with one another instead of looking after their guests. Perhaps that’s what the chain’s ‘German Hospitality’ claim means. If so, I am going back to choosing Swiss Hospitality on my next Zurich trip. Staff was chatting with each other across the reception counter multiple times as we entered and left the hotel, every evening when we entered the bar staff was either occupying the bas themselves leaving us to sit in the covered balcony, or entirely gone. Both times it tool over 5min for one of the staff to remove themselves for the group and attend to us for drinks. Breakfast appears to be serviced by one staff member who is good about asking about coffee, but then no one removes empty cups or plates while dining. The room we stayed in was large, generally well appointed and beds were comfortable. The location is great, but the hotel seems to be banking on that.
