The window overlooks the neighboring building just 30 centimeters away, but if you don't care about the view, it's not bothersome. A twin room with breakfast included for ¥10,000(around $67)for two people is a fantastic deal. Above all, the fluent Japanese-speaking woman at the front desk was incredibly kind, earning it a huge thumbs-up. I highly recommend it for Japanese people visiting Taichung for work. She even made calls in Chinese for me to book a foot reflexology place and a restaurant reservation for later, which was very much appreciated.

PROS 1) Hotel is located close to the Taichung Train station as well as malls and eateries. 2) Our room, though small, looked new and clean and had windows overlooking the neighbouring buildings and street below. There is an additional, rather sizeable break out area in the room with a table, mini fridge and chair. Bottled water and a small packet of doritos is also included. 3) Like the other CityInn hotels we have stayed in (in Taipei), this outfit in Taichung provides free washing machines (4x) and dryers (6x) on a first come first served basis. Drinks (coffee, hot chocolate etc) are also provided. 4) Our room rate (~NTD 2,300 per night) included breakfast, which was an absolute steal. Breakfast was simple but decent. 5) Service was very good and the hotel staff were all friendly and helpful. CONS 1) Only small gripe I have is the sound proofing - I could make out the rather loud sound of gushing water in the pipes when the room upstairs (I suspect) took a shower. Overall an excellent stay especially at the above mentioned price point.

The hotel is located close to the Taichung train station. The staff at the hotel was very friendly and helpful to us throughout our stay. The group of people at the hotel front desk were Helen, Gary and Nick. Helen has gone above and beyond in giving directions as to where to go and calling a taxi when we needed one. There was free breakfast every morning self-service buffet style on the lower level. I would like to thank Cityinn Hotel Plus -Taichung Station Branch for having a great group of people like Helen, Gary and Nick. As a traveler, who speaks mostly English I am glad that your staff is bilingual and have the ability to communicate with all travelers who comes through your hotel doors.
