For my first ever trip to Taiwan I wanted to see Kaohsiung first and I chose Fullon Hotel mainly for its location: it is close to Pier 2 art area and Kaohsiung Music Center. Although the nearest metro station is a 10 minute walk away, there's a bus stop and the Kaohsiung Light Rail stop nearby, as well as many good restaurants. Having waited for 45 minutes for my check-in I was upgraded to a bigger room on a higher floor, with a nice view to Kaohsiung harbor. The room was indeed spacious but not unlike most public areas in this hotel, could use updating. However I did enjoy my stay in this room. As I've had some great breakfast buffets all around Asia I was a bit disappointed that here the breakfast just ok. I expected more variation and even more taste when it came to some of the warm dishes. A pool in a hotel in the Kaohsiung city center is, to my knowledge, a rarity so although the opening hours seemed a bit random at times it was nice to go for an afternoon swim a few times. The hotel gym was ok. There's also a "sauna", meaning two pools of different temperatures (the hot one was great!) and a steam room which wasn't on when I went there. You have to book the sauna before going. The staff at the reception and in the breakfast room were always helpful when I needed help with directions or booking a massage. I would definitely stay at Fullon Hotel again.

I stayed in this hotel several times! Rooms are big and nice and clean and well maintained. Location is pretty good: close to major tourist attractions but a bit far from airport and high speed rail station. Nothing to complaint about . . . not a luxury choice . . . but reasonable for it's price. breakfast could be better and the restaurant is not very good.

“good location, clean room”

Hotel is close to Pier 2 and right beside the river, easy to explore the area on foot, 5 min walk to Love Pier station. There are convenient stores and some restaurants on the street. Room was comfy and clean, free parking in the basement, overall a good stay!

“3 star hotel”

For me the hotel itself is a 3 star hotel not a 4 star. They have a wheelchair ramp but it's too steep and tight for the wheelchair to use. For me the hotel itself is a 3 star hotel not a 4 star. They have a wheelchair ramp but it's too steep and tight for the wheelchair to use. Luckily our friends who are using wheelchairs can walk a little and climb up and down the stairs. During our 4 days stay the pool is closed and elevator traffic is worst during morning and past 5-6pm. Room carpets are filthy though we love the fact they have a pitcher in the room and a hot/cold water dispenser on the hallway. Breakfast buffet is ok even with a small buffet option.
