“Ever Wonder What It’s Like to Be Treated Like Royalty?”

One thing I genuinely regret about Hotel Dua is not booking a longer stay. Our journey to Kaohsiung was long and exhausting as we flew for hours and then took several train rides just to reach the city. By the time we arrived, we were extremely tired, so we weren’t sure what to expect. However, th… more

“Great service”

We accidentally left our backpack on the bus while on our way to the hotel. The staff went above and beyond to help us get it back, and we are truly grateful for their kindness and effort.

“Fantastic Hotel”

The second visit to the hotel last time was already 12 years! The first impression was that nothing changed. The smile and greeting at the counter, the taste of the breakfast, the service of the housekeeping still in excellent condition. Throughout the days we stay, the food at breakfast has a sl… more

“ For the price, I expected a little bit more”

Hotel is new, in a good location, 3 min walk to subway and Ubike, 10 min walk to the famous Liuhe night market. Breakfast buffet was delicate; however, the gym was small and not very practical. Room was big but very dark, so I can't really tell if the room was clean or not; bed was comfy; thin wal… more

  • Guests at Hotel Dua say: One thing I genuinely regret about Hotel Dua is not booking a longer stay. Our journey to Kaohsiung was long and exhausting as we flew for hours and then took several train rides just to reach the city. By the time we arrived, we were extremely tired, so we weren’t sure what to expect. However, the moment we arrived at Hotel Dua, every bit of that exhaustion felt worth it. From the outside, the hotel already made a strong impression. The entrance was grand and eye-catching, and stepping inside the lobby only elevated that feeling. The space felt warm, calming, and luxurious, enhanced by a pleasant fragrance that immediately made us feel relaxed. The staff were incredibly welcoming, professional, and attentive from the very start. As a thoughtful welcome gesture, they gave us complimentary skincare products, which was such a nice surprise. They also provided a city map with cute cartoon illustrations, which was both practical and charming—perfect for navigating and exploring Kaohsiung. One of the highlights of our stay happened even before we reached our room as we were pleasantly surprised with a complimentary upgrade from a Double Deluxe room (43 sqm) to an Executive room (46 sqm). The elevator was spacious and fast, and we reached our floor in no time. I really appreciated the dim lighting and carpeted hallway; it felt cozy, clean, and well-maintained, with absolutely no unpleasant smells. When we opened the door to our room, we were honestly blown away. The space was large, modern, and beautifully designed, with every detail thoughtfully considered. The king-sized bed was incredibly comfortable, paired with the biggest pillows I’ve ever seen in a hotel. On both sides of the bed were bedside tables with plenty of power sockets, making it very convenient to charge multiple devices at once. Across the room was a super long table that could easily hold all our belongings, plus a luggage rack that comfortably fit two large suitcases. There were also two spacious wardrobes, which included fluffy slippers (not the thin, papery ones you usually get), an ironing board, hangers, and a sturdy laundry bag. On the other side of the room, there was a mini fridge, drawers, a large sofa, and blackout curtains that made resting and sleeping extremely comfortable. We were also given complimentary chips, bottled water, tea, and coffee, all of which were refilled daily. What really impressed me was that even the slippers were replaced every single day, something I have never experienced before in any of my staycations. The flat-screen TV offered various digital entertainment options, including Netflix, which was perfect for unwinding after long days of exploring. Now, let me talk about the bathroom because this deserves special recognition. I am very picky when it comes to hotel bathrooms, and this one exceeded all expectations. The interior design was elegant and clearly well thought out, as if the architect truly took the time to plan every detail. There was a huge bathtub with its own sink, and a separate shower area complete with shampoo and conditioner pumps, plus ample space for personal skincare products. The shower experience was unlike anything I’ve ever encountered. The water pressure was incredible—soft, gentle, and it literally felt like being showered with cotton. That’s the best way I can describe it. It wasn’t harsh at all, just incredibly soothing and relaxing. It was such a unique experience that we genuinely looked forward to showering every day. The bathroom also featured a large sink area stocked with two bath towels, two hand towels, two face towels, and a bath mat. I usually request an extra bath mat, and they were more than happy to provide one daily without any hesitation. The toilet itself was Japanese-style and high-tech, with a built-in bidet and an automatic lid that opens and closes at the press of a button. You could also control the flushing options depending on whether you needed more or less water. It was modern, clean, and very impressive. The only small downside was that there wasn’t a conveniently placed area to reach for soap after washing, so we had to get a bit strategic—either putting the soap directly into our hands beforehand or using a nearby chair to assist. It wasn’t a major issue, but it was something we noticed and worth mentioning for future guests. On our last day, we decided to try the breakfast buffet, and it did not disappoint. There was a wide variety of choices, including delicious Taiwanese delicacies. Everything we tried was flavorful and satisfying. For 500 TWD, it was absolutely worth it especially since we were seated in an area with a beautiful city view. Watching the sunrise peek through the buildings while enjoying breakfast was the perfect way to start our stay. After experiencing all of this, it’s no surprise that Hotel Dua has been awarded a Michelin star. Every aspect of our stay from service and comfort to thoughtful details was exceptional. This hotel truly knows how to make guests feel special. Without a doubt, this was an unforgettable experience, and one we would happily return to again- this time for a longer stay.
