Great location next to the railway station. Wonderful views from all the rooms. The rooms very spacious , comfortable and very clean. The Horizon Club offered good choices for food and beverages. We had breakfast in the main restaurant and the club- both were excellent. Only the pool area could use a litte TLC.

“Convenient to the train station -- great suites and facilities; F&B decent but not great”

This hotel deserves a rating somewhere between good and excellent, but Trip Advisor doesn't offer that category. This hotel deserves a rating somewhere between good and excellent, but Trip Advisor doesn't offer that category. I had a Plaza suite which is a very expansive suite on a high floor with tons of space and large rooms and a fully functional room. The club lounge is very nice. The gym here is excellent and I liked the jacuzzi, steam room and the presence of a bathing suit spinner-dryer. The swimming pool was closed for maintenance; I might have found the water to be chilly based on the reported water temperature of 24-25 degrees centigrade. A plus for this place is that it is across the street from the train station. it's useful to take the commuter rail to the high speed rail station at Shalun about 25 minutes away. It's faster than coming in with a taxi and 95% less money. From the hotel it is easy to get anywhere in town with a taxi. There is no place to walk around at night here around the hotel. The minus to this property is that if you are a western style vegetarian or pescatarian, eating here offers poor choices on the dinner or breakfast buffets. I was not a happy camper eating here. Having some plain food options would have been really welcome. The hotel also looks a bit dated and could use a bit of a new look. I was told by a guide that another property to look at here on the 5-star level is Silks Place, which I did not get a chance to visit. I think it is in a different part of town. Staying right by the train station is a plus for getting in and out of here. This hotel is fine for a short stay to Tainan. You couldn't beat the price -- I paid about $300 for a large suite on a club floor with breakfast.

We had a wonderful stay at this 5 star hotel. Everything you expected in a classical 5 star hotel delivered! Great service, great restaurants, pools, spas. We booked interconnecting room and rooms and beds are huge. It is an old 5 star hotel and things like carpet and bathrooms are bit dated but it’s clean. It is located right opposite to Tainan train station thus it’s easier to get around and department store is co located with the hotel thus it is really convenient with shopping and dining. We have young children and need to do laundry frequently and there’s lots of self service laundries around the area given it’s next to a university. Buffet breakfast and dinner have lots of varieties and food quality is excellent. Only one little feedback is the pillows are too soft and sleep quality is probably not as good as we like. Otherwise we really enjoyed our 5 day stay

“No. It’s not as per International standards”

The personnel does not speak proper English and the service is not good. We were at the Horizon Club for the entire time and the waiting time for a coffee or even an egg white is soo long! 45’ and I am still waiting, unbelievable… this was not just for a day but it was the standard every day we wer… more

The personnel does not speak proper English and the service is not good. We were at the Horizon Club for the entire time and the waiting time for a coffee or even an egg white is soo long! 45’ and I am still waiting, unbelievable… this was not just for a day but it was the standard every day we were there. The concierge suggested us a Japanese restaurant (Ginza) and it was wat below standard. The only things good here are the pool and the gym. Unfortunately in Tainan there are not many options left….
