I was comparing a few B&Bs and hotels at Penghu, when I came across An-I Hotel website. Price is great for its room size and location, and An-I Hotel offers regular package deals and promotions on the hotel website. The hotel also provides free two-way airport or harbor transfer. You can rent a bike from An-I Hotel to tour Penghu as most of the scenic areas are pretty far apart. However, I chose to take the room packages that come along with tour as I do not possess an international motorbike license. Compared to other Penghu Hotel that I have lookup, their room packages with tour are very reasonably priced. Generally there are two types of tour, first is to follow tour bus, bringing you to see historical sites and scenic areas at North islands, whereas the other is led by An-I Hotel's staff, where he/she will bring you to exclusive spots. Personally, as I love old buildings and scenery, I prefer the bus tour better as it brings us to the various tourist attractions in Penghu. An-I Hotel is 13 minutes walk to the main shopping district at Zhongzheng Road, and 15 minutes to Penghu Bay which is made famous by Sun Anbang's song - Wai Po De Peng Hu Wan. Magong Old Street is near Zhongzheng Road, so you can visit the old street while after doing shopping. Just around the turn from An-I Hotel, there is a buffet steamboat restaurant called Xiao Nu Zai (Translated as Little Cowboy), where you can barbeque meat over charcoal grill. They offer free flow of food, drinks and desserts, an excellent place for a fulfilling dinner. The rooms at An-I Hotel are pretty spacious and decorated in either shades of pink or blue. We have stayed in their seaview room which is in blue and you can see the sea from the room. Simply beautiful! However, the bathroom tends to be smaller. Toiletries are provided with a small disposable towel in addition to the bath towel. However, due to strong winds, which are very common in Penghu, we can hear the gushing wind blowing onto the windows pane at night. I believe it would be much better in summer. Breakfast is provided at An-I Hotel. During low season like winter, An-I Hotel will offer packed breakfast. Their breakfast varies daily. We had visited Penghu during early March, a period which is still transiting from winter to spring. The weather tends to be unpredictable; our first day at Penghu was above 20 degree Celsius, but the second and third day dropped to below 20 degree Celsius. Remember to bring along a cap/hat if you are going during winter or end winter period as advised by our tour guide because the freezing cold winds might cause headaches. Service of An-I Hotel is great! My travel adaptor had spoiled on our first day in Penghu, An-I Hotel's reception lady is very helpful. She lends us a spare adaptor which she had kept at the counter for the duration of our stay. Fantastic service!

The rooms were large and staff was helpful to get call up travel services to help us get around the islands. The hotel is close to the 203 that takes you around Penghu. The rooms were large and staff was helpful to get call up travel services to help us get around the islands. The hotel is close to the 203 that takes you around Penghu. Breakfast buffet also has a decent selection of food and coffee -- so for that it was good. What I did not like, however, was the smoking. We got a non-smoking room on what we thought would be a non-smoking hall, but we woke up to stale smoke in our room each morning. We told the staff but they didn't seem to care and didn't offer any solution. It was very irritating and opening windows in the heat was uncomfortable and let bugs in our room. The smoke came through the vents, so the staff felt there was nothing they could do. It was frustrating.
