What truly sets Ambience Hotel apart is not just the facilities, but the exceptional warmth and attentiveness of the staff. Beyond complimentary breakfast, laundry facilities, snacks, drinks, and bottled water, it was the genuine hospitality that made our stay memorable. Every time we approached the front desk for help — whether for directions, transport arrangements, or even food delivery recommendations — the staff went above and beyond. On several occasions, they even helped us call transport services and arrange food delivery. Our room was spacious and comfortable. However, for light sleepers like myself who prefer complete darkness, there were quite a number of light sources in the room. The bathroom door and side panels were made of frosted glass, so whenever my husband used the bathroom at night, the light would shine through and wake me up. There were also indicator lights from the air-conditioning unit, WiFi router, and dehumidifier. The television also came with a good selection of channels and entertainment options, which was a nice touch for winding down at night. However, we did experience occasional reception issues on certain channels during our stay. In addition, although the curtains were blackout-style, our east-facing room still allowed morning sunlight to stream in from the top edges of the curtains directly onto the bed. Guests who prefer sleeping in may wish to request a west-facing room instead. The complimentary laundry service is a thoughtful addition, especially for travellers on longer stays. However, as there is only one washing machine and two dryers, queues can become quite long during peak periods. Guests should also note the dryer heat settings carefully, as using the low-heat setting may result in clothes taking more than two hours to dry. Breakfast was simple but satisfying, with scrambled eggs, noodles, vegetables, toast, coffee, and tea. We were pleasantly surprised by the generous assortment of complimentary snacks and biscuits available both at the breakfast area and replenished daily in the room. Drinks including soft drinks and beer were also restocked daily. One thing that genuinely stood out to us was the care and respect shown by the staff. Every time we stepped out of the hotel, they would ask if we needed help getting anywhere and would even remind us to bring bottled water to stay hydrated. Whenever we approached the counter, not just the serving staff but everyone at the front desk would stand up respectfully to attend to us. As someone who travels frequently within the aviation and aerospace industry, this level of attentiveness is something rarely seen even in many higher-rated hotels. The team also discovered that it was my birthday month and surprised me with a small gift together with a handwritten card signed by the staff. It was a deeply thoughtful gesture that genuinely moved me. While some reviews mention the hotel being near an MRT station, it is still approximately a 15–20 minute walk away (around 1.6km). Thankfully, the weather during our stay was cool and pleasant, but the walk could feel quite uncomfortable during summer or rainy periods. Overall, Ambience Hotel may officially be a 3-star hotel, but the sincerity, hospitality, and service from the team easily deserve 5 stars.
