The hotel is centrally located close to Taipei Main Station. The staff were very pleasant and speak reasonable English. The room is of a reasonable size, clean with tea and coffee provided. There is also a reliable wifi in the room. There are quite a few small restaurants close to the hotel. A 15 minute walk straight down the stree will get you to the Chiang Kai Shek memorial.

Its an old hotel with 70s/80s décor. Nevertheless the maintenance is good and general area is clean. The room is of good size so no need to cramp up. While some people may not like old fashion, we are ok as long as it is clean and well maintained. Service from front desk is good, however if you speak Mandarin you probably will get more information. Location is good and within 50m radius, both sides along the main road you can find a few 24 hours convenience stores. There is a small eatery next door which serves authentic Taiwanese food. There are a few Japanese restaurants within 100m of the hotel which served good food. It is a good place to stay after all what we need is a clean and safe place to rest our heads for the night.

The main reason I chose this hotel was because it's walkable from the HSR station. We were checked in quickly with no fuss and I was pleasantly surprised at the size of our room. The in room WiFi works pretty well. There's nothing really flash of memorable about this hotel but for a stopover it does the job. Check out the hotel's 'Business Centre' for a free cup of tea.

I think this hotel is a solid 3 star but had the potential to be 4 star with a few improvements. The front desk is just that. .a standard office desk instead of the usual shiny counter you'd expect in any hotel. The staff really have average English and are a bit nervous dealing with guests. The corridors look quite dated, especially the old carpet and antique doors which you need to open the old fashioned way - lock and key. The room was spacious and the bed was good, but boy it needs a refresh. We had frayed bed sheets, and the bathroom had cracked and faded white tiles. Water pressure from the shower head was disgraceful, and the hotel only provides one tiny soap each day. We found hairs from the cleaning lady in the shower as well. Otherwise, the location is decent. A really easy walk from Zhongshan station. It's a bit more of a hassle to Taipei main station with suitcases because there are a few big intersections to cross.
