I recently completed a stay at Brother Hotel. The hotel exceeded my expectations. Read on for the details forming my opinion. Booking :: I first tried to make a reservation on the hotel's website. But the hotel's website stated that rooms were not available for the dates requested. I was able to make a reservation using a travel aggregation website. I am not sure if this was a website issue, or if it was an inventory issue. Registration :: When I arrived, the registration process was easy and efficient. During my stay, I had a positive interaction with each team member I interacted with at the desk. Guest Services :: The front desk is capable of exchanging foreign currency. The rate is good, considering the convenience. And while individual rooms now have a safe, the cashier also has safe deposit services. Concierge :: I neglected to purchase an eSIM before leaving the airport. The young lady at the concierge desk was able to direct me to a mobile phone store (only a block away) which was able to offer me a 5-day plan. Room Quality :: I imagine that Brother Hotel sees high turnover; but housekeeping is doing an excellent job. The carpet was clean. The beds were comfortable; the sheets were clean, bright and crisp. I did not see "bumps or bruises" on the furniture. Towels were also clean and in very good condition. The bathroom is where you see the most wear and tear. But the bathroom was very clean. When you consider the era when the structure was built, the bathroom is reasonably sized. My room had a bathtub w/ shower; a sink; and a bidet type toilet. This hotel provides daily room maintenance. Location :: I used UBER, primarily; but the hotel doormen can easily get you a taxi. Also, this hotel is located at the junction of two MRT stations and numerous bus lines. General Facilities :: The hotel has several restaurants on premises. If you do not want to leave the premises, these offer good dining options. There is also a bakery store, a shop offering musubi, and a convenience / gift store. One of the restaurants I ate in was the "Chrysanthemum Room". The Chrysanthemum Room is a Japanese restaurant, located one floor down from the lobby. I ate a set meal, which offered a very nice selection of items--rolls, sushi, tempura, rice, soup, etc. A la carte sushi and sashimi is also available. "Plum Blossom Hall" (2nd Fl) is Cantonese restaurant, offering dim sum. I did not eat there; but I observed that it was always busy. When booking, consider including a breakfast plan :: While booking, I was offered the option purchasing a breakfast package with my reservation. A buffet breakfast was offered in "The Rose Room" (13th Fl). The foodstuff offered here was a medley of Western and Chinese food items. I found this a good option if you want to eat in quantity--or if you're simply undecided as to what you want to eat. The "Viola Restaurant" (1st Fl) offers a set plate western breakfast. I would describe it as more of a prix fixe breakfast, as you have list of selections you can choose from. It had been 30+ years since I last visited Taiwan. When my family would visit Taipei, we stayed at Brother Hotel. I knew the city had changed substantially; but I felt that staying at Brother Hotel would give me a point of reference, as I reacquainted myself with the city. It was a good choice.

1. Delightful and varied breakfast spread. This was probably the number one thing I liked about the hotel 2. Super convenient location. Hotel side entrance (bakeshop) is literally in front of the train station exit. 3. Service was not too hospitable compared to that of hotels from neighboring countries. I think the service was a bit cold for Asian service standards. But it seems to be a business hotel so I think it is ok. It is not really catered for families. They prioritize efficiency, no issues with that. 4. Room was clean and spacious. 5. Will come back again :)

“Nice hotel in convenient location”

Stayed at the Brother Hotel for a few days as part of a business visit. Overall room was very good for price, clean and in a very good location. Breakfast was acceptable overall. Stayed at the Brother Hotel for a few days as part of a business visit. Overall room was very good for price, clean and in a very good location. Breakfast was acceptable overall. I have dinner once there in one of the restaurants but the food was rather bland and the setting is like a cantina; there are much nicer and cheaper places to have dinner close by. If the food was better I would give it 5 stars

“Good hotel in Taipei”

Newly remodeled rooms are excellent. However location is not ideal for the casual shopping and dining options around the hotel is limited. Buffet breakfast included is generous with many dishes offered. From salad to hot items to bread and even a made-to-order egg dishes.
