If you are looking for a place to crash after eating your way through Taipei, this is it. The location is absolutely unbeatable. You can easily walk to both Ximending and Taipei Main Station, which saved us a ton on taxis and made hauling our luggage to the airport train a breeze. The hotel itself is fun and compact. I loved the "smart room" setup; having an iPad that controls literally everything (lights, AC, TV, curtains) made me feel like I was staying in a futuristic pod. It is clean, efficient, and perfect for solo travelers or couples who don’t mind a tight squeeze. My only real gripe is the bathroom design. There is a privacy curtain that separates the sleeping area from the toilet, which is great in theory, but it is transparent. Not frosted, not opaque, just clear. It does not offer much privacy if you are traveling with a friend, and if someone turns on the bathroom light in the middle of the night, the whole room lights up.

Ok. The location was great and eventually our room was good. They first put us in room 1318 which smelled like mold because, and I'm not exaggerating, there was lots of it in the room. Ok. The location was great and eventually our room was good. They first put us in room 1318 which smelled like mold because, and I'm not exaggerating, there was lots of it in the room. On the shower curtain, on the wall around the air conditioner, on the ceiling, on the mattress. Almost everywhere had some mold. How is that even OK? Why would the rent out that room? Anyway, a maintenance guy came up to check and he said ,' yeah. You need a new room. " A few minutes later they moved us.

First of all, the location is great. However I won’t see myself returning unless I want to stay near that area. - Check in iPads were difficult to use, and the hotel is so understaffed I had to wait for one to be available - Rooms were extremely small, especially for the price you’re paying - Chose the dining credit as my Bonvoy benefit. It was NTD300. I only stayed one night so I thought it would be usable between the check in and check out. Also, i grabbed a coffee the first night, and the staff didn’t say anything that I had to use the full amount that evening. The next day, I went to get a coffee and was told that my credits are no longer valid because I used it the night before, and any leftover amount was no longer valid. I’m not going to bother because it’s only like US$5, but the sneakiness and the embarrassing conversation did not leave a good impression. - Also does not bother recognising Bonvoy’s upgrade benefit. I could still book a better room on the app (and I checked in at evening) but wasn’t given one. Overall, don’t bother staying here if you’re a Bonvoy member expecting any benefits.
