More of a boutique hostel experience.Top floor of a commercial/office building. Common area with view looking north up Dunhua Road and Taipei Arena. Can hang out in common area, drink tea (filtered cold/warm/hot water dispenser), and eat prepared food from the options in the area, including the ubiquitous convenience stores, and traditional market with upstairs food court at the SE corner opposite of the Taipei City Arts Promotion building. Was visiting family, and stayed four nights in a clean and basic room with a queen bed, private bathroom, and a view overlooking the Taipei Arena complex. I would have gone for a run at the public track right across the street, but was recovering from a cold. Was able to check-in at late w/o problem as flight was late. Things to note: No food in hotel itself. Not all rooms have a window. If come or leave during the evening, you will share the elevator with people perfumed with beer and cigarettes, as the building has a bar and hostess club.

“Nice budget hostel for a short stay”

Very clean, enough privacy, very good location, good value for the price. In the single rooms, I would add more decorations or carpet to make the rooms more cozy. And for my personal opinion the aircon was a bit too cold.

Meistay is located on a floor of an old building. The common area is quite cozy and comfortable. My room is Ok with no view, it is a very basic room to be honest. By considering for the room price, I would not recommend to stay here, I would rather stay in a proper hotel instead.

Standard, price reflects quality type of deal with this place. It's cheap, is in a building that is convenient (albeit right at the top). I found it to be very clean, and at that price its the only thing I really ask of budget guesthouses. That said, noise travels very easily, especially in the corner rooms and my sleep quality was not good. Originally had some partyboys a few rooms down, but they were respectful enough to tone it down when asked. The 24 hour nature of the guesthouse is a plus point for those travelers that have reviewed here when arriving at 1 or 2 am, but for the rest of us who are already checked in and trying to get some sleep the constant noise of trolley bags along the floor and doors shutting and late night showers is not ideal. The staff were alright. The wi-fi was good. I wouldn't say I recommend staying here because I've stayed in better, similar priced places in my regular trips to Taipei, but neither would I deter people from staying here because the price and cleanliness is decent. Overall I would say 2.5 - 3 stars.
