“Well located clean hotel”

We stayed three nights in two different visits to Taipei recently. The rooms were clean and compact. The staff were helpful and friendly, considering the corona virus situation. The hotel is well located near the main train station and lots of eating and shopping options.

“Odd but Ok place”

Good hotel in a good location near the train stations and activities. An average 3 star hotel, my price was good. The service was fine. Not much of a view but did have air conditioning and other standard.

Location: Good, about 3 blocks or 5 minute walk to Main Station. Rooms: Most are very small, and difficult to deal with large luggage. Bathroom facilities are inches away from the bed, and separated only by a glass partition that is open at the bottom and top. No privacy, and poor ventilation … more

Location: Good, about 3 blocks or 5 minute walk to Main Station. Rooms: Most are very small, and difficult to deal with large luggage. Bathroom facilities are inches away from the bed, and separated only by a glass partition that is open at the bottom and top. No privacy, and poor ventilation if somebody needs to use the toilet. Some rooms have a small space to hang a FEW items of clothing (limited # of hangers), some rooms have no such hanging space. There is a small fridge in the room, which comes in handy. A/C: We stayed in several different rooms over the course of a month, and every room has the same problem: Air Con is either on full blast, or you need to turn it off. The thermostat to set temperature simply doesn't work. We were woken up middle of the night every night when temps in room dipped to around 18C, then we had to turn off AC, then it became very hot and stuffy again. BEDS: Very hard. ok if you are used to that. Cleanliness: Rooms are cleaned every day, but carpets are very dirty. Lobby: Is on 3rd floor. Really just a check-in desk, and coffee area. No real lobby for sitting with your travel companions, and rooms have no sitting area either. We found this difficult since we were a group of 6 travelling together, with nowhere to sit together in the evenings. Food and Beverages: Coffee machine is there, but you have to ask for a cup and cream each time...it's like the staff don't trust their own customers. Sometimes they put some fruit out, but clearly some guests load up, because it's always gone. Included is "free" breakfast, but it was a coupon for fixed items with outside vendors, some of which weren't open until quite late. All we really wanted were some steamed buns and hot soy milk...when we inquired at front desk where we could find such things, we were told "google it". Stupid answer, since these small food shops don't have online presence. Same response when we asked about directions or places of interest, desk staff were of no help at all, and spoke little to no English. Check-in: Very slow process. We arrived early and needed to change clothes, but we were not permitted to check in before 3pm.
