Need to pre-pay for our day trip hot springs visit. Had to hike up the hill to get to the hotel. You may want to reserve a free shuttle down the mountain back to MRT before you check in for the hot spring. Then go around back to get to the outdoor hot spring. They will give you a basket of flip flop, towel, shower cap, robe. Changing rooms have lockers for your stuff and locks. Once you change, you can go to the different temperature hot spring out back. You’re required to wear a head cap/ shower or silicone that you may want to bring. Stay as long as you want. They’re constantly cleaning so it’s pretty clean.

There is only one woman on the staff who seems senior and could answer questions in English. I wished there are more staff who can speak English. Make sure to turn on the TV to receive your WiFi /password combo. Pros: 1. Calm Japanese styled rooms with firm beds 2. Private stone bath you can fill up with hot spring water 3. 9 outdoor hot spring pools and a changing room/locker with toilettes and showers 4. There’s a free bus shuttle that pick up their passengers from the metro and train station that leaves from the hotel. They ask that we pre-register when leaving from the hotel to make sure there are enough seats. 5. Close proximity to Thermal Valley Cons: 1. Limited breakfast food selections with one hour to dine. They ask whether you want 7-8am, 8-9am, or 9-10am seating. 2. Dated rooms, and okay on the cleanliness. There are spots on the rug.

We had been a frequent guest before covid (as well as Grand View Resort). Typically stay 4 nights, like this time. They have the best outdoor spa facility in Beitou, although it gets crowded with day users. The room (executive double) is nice and well equipped, but dark with just a tiny window at the bottom of a light well. Now the many bad aspects. Their online booking system does/did not work. You have to call and hope for english speaker. They have no memory of frequent guests. At check-in, they insisted that rooms will only be available at 3pm, although we had advised them that we flew in and would arrive around 2pm (got there 2:15). The 3pm time seems a policy to be enforced by a not-friendly staff. After long arguing in broken english, it turned out that the room was ready, and had been for a long time as it was very stuffy. One reason we booked (at a much higher price than before covid) was that the hotel has a nice pool. It used to be free for guests, but they now charge TWD800 per pax for single use. The old thermostats in the rooms do not work. Either you turn ac on and it blows continuously making the room freezing cold, or you don’t and the room gets warm and stuffy. Wifey got a cold. Breakfast buffet is mediocre, to use a kind word. For example, they serve no eggs whatsoever, despite the high price; one day they had reheated scrambled egg, which was an inedible magma. Not a surprise, but staff do not speak any English, with a couple of exceptions with basic English skills.

We were there for 1 night of the Christmas holiday. We booked the room thru official website which 2 meals included. The room is so far ok with a quite deep and big private onsen. Other equipments in the room is fairly good. However, the meals were not really good in level. I can't imagine that tempura were cold or only in room temperature, which the staff told me that just freshly fried them..... I was disappointed with the dessert either. I was expected to have the same dessert as written in menu which is 麻糬. They sent me with only read bean soup? What? I can accept with seasonal change, but I don't think it would be in that big difference. Strange design in the outdoor onsen too. We firstly go downstairs to register and take the stuffs then go upstairs back to the changing room then get back down to the onsen. I don't think this is a correct sequence. Anyway, I won't suggest this 春天溫泉飯店to my friends or family.
