I love this hotel! It’s small and simple but has everything! You never have to wait on the elevator like at a large tower. In fact, the staff is usually anticipating your every move and summoning the elevator as you walk in for the evening. The rooms are very comfortable, clean, and the bathrooms are stunning. I love the gray wall tiles so, so much! I could not stop raving about those gray wall tiles in the bathroom! I want them in my home, lol! Very beautiful! And the view of the river is magical. I didn’t realize this initially, but the river drops and rises quite dramatically at times from the tides. It’s like a living work of art. Make sure to visit the restaurant at the top, too, and enjoy the view of fish jumping from the river while dining on the most delicious fare! It’s truly breathtaking! And breakfast is AMAZING! They have a buffet of delicious dishes alongside a menu for you to order a plated dish that accompanies the buffet breakfast. I think I ordered the beef noodle soup almost every morning. It was SO GOOD!! The beef was so tender!! It was actually the best beef noodle soup I had during this trip and far better than some restaurants that were listed on Taipei’s top beef noodle spots. Seriously! Included with the breakfast! After a week of eating, I craved a simpler dish for breakfast. (This is the photo I’m attaching). Normally this dish would have additional components, such as an omelette but I requested no eggs — just some hash browns and vegetables — and the simpler dish was still a masterpiece! Great job, chef! Perhaps the best thing is the service! Special thanks to Mark for arranging the perfect room for us and reserving the same room again for our return to the hotel after a brief 2-day break visiting another part of the island. Thanks, Mark! But Joe - you are something else! You are a true gem! Joe provided the greatest, world-class service upstairs in the restaurant! He consistently refilled my coffee before I could anticipate the need. He remembered my nuanced preferences, and always visited with creamer in hand. He is just too, too kind, and one of the best Marriott employees I’ve come across - ever! We started to bring them treats / sweets as an expression of gratitude for the outstanding service, such as the red bean mochi strawberries. But not to be outdone, Joe surpassed my highest standards of service even more. Joe is truly remarkable! Marriott - where do you find these people? We will be back to Taipei again and again because of your world-class kindness and service. Truly - this place is just the BEST!! Thanks, JOE!!

I stayed my first three days in Taipei at Suz & Catorze Taipei, a Tribute Portfolio Hotel, my first time at this Marriott property. I was upgraded to a corner room with a river view, though the side window faced a nearby residential building, so I had to keep the blinds closed for privacy. The room was on the smaller side. The location is decent—about a 10–15 minute walk to Ximending and Dihua Street. There’s a free shuttle starting at 10 a.m. to Ximen MRT or Taipei Main Station (one-way only). Staff were extremely friendly and welcoming. Breakfast options were limited but decent. Minor downsides were the bidet (you have to turn on the heating manually) and a not-so-user-friendly TV remote. Overall, considering how expensive Taipei hotels are, this place felt affordable and good value. I enjoyed my stay and I will considering staying this hotel again next time.

Chose this hotel for my short visit to Taipei because of Marriott loyaly program. Overall good experience and would stay again. There's a lot to like at this price point: + Location is excellent in Ximending, short walk to lots of restaurants, cafes, shopping + Rooms are spacious for Taiwan, modern, extremely clean + Gorgeous river views (for some rooms) + Water and soft drinks free in minibar + Second floor lounge is nice, a convenient place to meet colleagues, and has tea and small snacks available during standard hours + Parking is available Things that are neutral or could be improved: – They were unable to provide late check-out later than 1 pm (standard is 12 pm, and I was asking for 2 pm due to my late flight out) because they said they were very busy and needed to clean the room. Fair. But I just sat in my room after 1 pm assuming housekeeping would kick me out eventually, although they never arrived. I left at 2 pm anyway. – More than half the time I would leave/return from my room, there was another guest loitering in the common space in front of the elevators, typically talking on their cell phone. While there's nothing necessarily wrong with this, it just seemed odd. I stay in dozens of hotels every year, and have never encountered another hotel where guests loiter in common areas so frequently. I don't know if this is a hotel issue, or perhaps just bad luck/coincidence. This is only worth mentioning because the common area is small, and room doors are thin, so the phone conversations were quite distracting at night.

“Only the riverside rooms are nice”

I have previously rated this hotel as 5 stars but that was after several trips where I stayed in a riverside room. Those rooms are great! But this time I booked their "tranquil" room and was shocked to see that the only window was in the bathroom. Can't do a windowless hotel room for almost $200 … more

I have previously rated this hotel as 5 stars but that was after several trips where I stayed in a riverside room. Those rooms are great! But this time I booked their "tranquil" room and was shocked to see that the only window was in the bathroom. Can't do a windowless hotel room for almost $200 USD. I asked to be moved to another room and it was on the same, non-river side of the hotel. That at least had a window in the main bedroom, but it was tiny and the view was of another building about 10 feet away. I ended up canceling the week I had booked here and moved to an Airbnb instead. Bummed to not get the Marriott points but I just couldn't do it.
