While I had some issues with this hotel, the tremendous staff -from the security guard at the entrance to the reception staff to the spa staff - really elevates the experience at this admittedly convention hotel. Interestingly I had the same experience at the Intercontinental in Miami recently. I stayed for seven days at the hotel at the end of June, arriving four days early for a three day conference at the end of the week. During the initial period I was one of the only guests in this huge convention-feeling hotel. Rather than seek a smaller cheaper hotel with a more boutique feel which is more my style, I opted for the convenience of one location. Once my meetings started, it was clear how well designed the space is for meetings and longer stays. I was very happy with my stay for a full week in this well-located hotel next to the trendy Neve Tzedek neighborhood (had Anita’s gelato five times and went to the Japanese TYO twice. Both spectacular) and not far from either Jaffa or Rothschild. The pros (I had a sea view king on the 21st floor with access to the club lounge on the 24th floor. Reviewers please tell us what kind of room you had when you review): -Room was large! -bed was very comfortable, medium firmness (thank goodness. I hate soft beds) and good sheet quality -air conditioning worked well and I never heard it! -Rooms are well lit! Yeah! So are the corridors. I don’t want mood lighting in my hotel room. -bathrooms are well lit, with plenty of counter space, good amenities and a makeup mirror. Towels are good quality. There is a shower and an attractive large soaking tub. The shower had fantastic water pressure from the spray nozzle which could be adjusted or lifted off. There was also a rain shower head option . -there was a refrigerator that allowed you to store drinks -there was a large closet with a safe and drawers inside. The drawers were beneath the safe and were almost like a dresser. Thank you! I was away for a week, with events day and night and clothes for everything. I don’t want to live out of my suitcase for a week. Hate minimalist decor with nowhere to put anything so thank you Intercontinental. -large floor to ceiling windows. -couch, coffee table and stool -large desk area -sufficient charging ports -communal eating area and lobby on the third floor is attractive. -Breakfast is typical large Israeli breakfast included in room. Fine. Not the best I ever had (it’s not the Inbal or the King David) but totally sufficient. Nice there is a guy making eggs or omelets to order -best selling point is the lovely staff throughout the hotel. At the club lounge (24 floor) the first day a woman (I think the manager) made me a “tea” - hot water with lemon, honey, ginger and cinnamon stick as I was getting sick. She told me she taught everyone there how to make it and she was correct. I had it for several days. I don’t really like massages generally but I had a “fusion” massage with Christina in the spa (spoke no English) that was so good I had another one the next day! -housekeeping twice a day. You could also put out a card in the interest of conserving water to have them not service your room that day. I did that half the time. -pool nice The cons were only a few but management should pay attention: -carpet seemed oldish and was stained in some places -room felt damp. I washed some very light underclothes and three days later they were still not dry -shower often leaked. Took me a while to figure how to fix minimize this. It’s a tiny glass shower cabinet clear on two sides. Had to pull the door inwards and then push out not all the way to make a seal -hallway and bathroom floor are either marble or some slick tile. Very slippery when floor was wet -shower floor was so slick I slipped three times (I caught myself with the grab bar). They should do something about that -WiFi was good but could be better on convention level which is down from street level. -no shops at all in hotel. All in all I saw a consistent level of quality in both the Miami and Tel Aviv Intercontinental Hotels and left very satisfied. Kudos to IHG for training friendly, helpful, service with a smile staff so often lacking, particularly in large hotels.

I recently visited Israel & stayed at the David Intercontinental Hotel in Tel Aviv. What a great experience! Everyone was so friendly from the front desk, to the business lounge (Martina, Liat, Oleg & Nir) and breakfast area (Kevin Freund & Yakov). All greeted me with a smile and were very helpful. I would also like to compliment the waiters, cleaning people and the rest of the hotel staff. I felt very special and spoiled. I hope to come again! HM

“Amazing Stay at the David Intercontinental Hotel”

I recently returned from my trip to Israel. My stay at the David Intercontinental Hotel was perfect. The hotel was clean and within walking distance to the beach, Shuk HaCarmel and Neve Tzedek. The staff at the front desk were warm and took care of my requests. The same can be said about Martina, Liat and Oleg at the club lounge. Breakfast in the main dining room was beautifully presented and plentiful. Kevin Freund, Yakov and the staff were attentive and I was warmly greeted each morning. Over the week, Kevin remembered what I like (for example, a large glass of water and cappuccino) and these were automatically brought to my table without my asking, along with friendly small talk and always a smile.

Spring in Tel Aviv is a wonderful experience filled with small and big surprises - Mikve Israel street in the city's South is where sidewalk cafés (like Meshek Barzilay) reside next to a great vintage store (Chelsea) and a powerful lighthouse bookstore (Migdalor in Hebrew). Up the road you'll find the cute Waycup coffee and further down - Yuka Monsters - a great comic bookstore.
