**A Small Riverside Hotel with One of Bangkok’s Most Memorable Views** Riva Arun Bangkok is a small boutique hotel in Bangkok’s historic riverside area, directly across the Chao Phraya River from Wat Arun and within very easy walking distance of Wat Pho. I stayed in the Premium Jacuzzi Suite and came away genuinely impressed by both the hotel and its location. For me, the standout feature was unquestionably the view. My suite had a huge balcony overlooking the river and Wat Arun, while the bedroom also offered views towards Wat Pho and the Grand Palace. Watching Wat Arun light up at night while the colourful dinner-cruise boats passed along the river was a particularly memorable experience. The suite itself was comfortable and full of natural light. I especially enjoyed the private Jacuzzi, although prospective guests should know that it is fairly shallow. The bedroom also felt slightly cramped around the foot of the bed, but with a separate living area and such an enormous balcony, I personally spent very little time sitting in the bedroom. Another major highlight is **Above Riva**, the rooftop restaurant. The sweeping views over the Chao Phraya River are superb and make it a particularly beautiful setting for a romantic dinner. I ate both dinner and breakfast here and was impressed by the food and service as well as the setting. The location is also excellent for sightseeing. Wat Pho and the Reclining Buddha are just a short walk away, Sanam Chai MRT station is nearby, and Chinatown is only a couple of stops away by subway. One thing to be aware of is that Riva Arun does not have its own swimming pool or fitness centre. Guests can, however, use the swimming pool and fitness facilities at its sister property, Riva Surya Bangkok, further along the river. Riva Arun will not suit someone looking for a large resort-style hotel packed with facilities. What it does offer is character, very good service, an excellent historic-Bangkok location and, above all, some truly exceptional views. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay and would particularly recommend it to travellers wanting to experience Bangkok’s historic riverside area from a rather special perspective.

Wonderful 4 night stay at Riva Arun. Location is everything for tourism and this location is nearly adjacent to the Wat Phra, across the river from Wat Arun, and about 2 US-city blocks from the Palace, so location is excellent for tourism reasons. Wonderful 4 night stay at Riva Arun. Location is everything for tourism and this location is nearly adjacent to the Wat Phra, across the river from Wat Arun, and about 2 US-city blocks from the Palace, so location is excellent for tourism reasons. Stayed in a suite (#401). Bed was very comfortable and the room was quiet every night we were there. There are excellent Thai restaurants within meters of the hotel entrance along the river, so another big plus. Breakfast was open-air, up on the 5th floor, which is a nice plus for its views. We didn't try the restaurant for dinner, but looking at its fairly limited seating capacity, reservations would seem mandatory, especially as it has the highest perch along the river looking towards Wat Arun as well as towards the Palace in the other direction. Staff were all outstanding, gracious and unfailingly helpful. We'd gladly return!

“Perfect location”

Incredible location with fantastic views. Perfect for sightseeing with Wat Arun, Wat Pho and The Grand Palace all on the doorstep. Wonderfully helpful staff and fantastic facilities. Would definitely stay here again if back in Bangkok.

An absolutely wonderful stay right by the river. The location is unbeatable, you sit at breakfast or dinner with a stunning view directly onto Wat Arun. It’s simply magical. But what truly makes this place special are the people. The staff were incredibly kind, honestly some of the nicest I’ve ever encountered at any hotel. You feel welcome and cared for from the very first moment. The room is small, but spotlessly clean, with a perfectly working air conditioning and a really cozy bed. It looks exactly like on the pictures. You get everything you need, they even provided a toothbrush, toothpaste, shampoo, and a shaving kit. A sweet touch: you’re welcomed and later sent off with a handwritten card and a little dessert. A small gesture, but that’s exactly what makes the difference. All in all, a lovely stay right by the river that I would recommend to anyone.
