This hotel is situated outside the "city wall" area but still close to everything. Grab a map from reception and start exploring by foot. Easy walk into city centre, over the Ping River to the night and flower markets. If you don't care to walk, just walk to either Kaew Nawarat Road or in the other direction to Charoen Muang Road to catch a Songthaew (red taxi or red pick up). Costs THB30 - don't know how far you can actually go for that money, but will take you to Thapae Gate. I walked to and from Cental Festival Mall, Decathlon, Big C, Lotus's. A walk from this hotel to Katare Night Bazaar takes about 20 minutes. A must buy is "Mango and sticky rice" from a delightful lady that explains the process as she prepares this delightful dish, for THB70. Hotel is within 200 metres of a number of restaurants and coffee shops, that offer excellent service and product. Room (1202) is large, has the fanciest toilet and a very comfortable bed.

“Big room and wonderful pool!”

We booked a triple room here and it was very spacious with a desk and a sitting area and lots of room for suitcases. The staff was friendly and helpful, and went out of their way to help us when the taxi couldn't find the hotel. Apparently, the Grab site does not list the hotel and you need to walk… more

We booked a triple room here and it was very spacious with a desk and a sitting area and lots of room for suitcases. The staff was friendly and helpful, and went out of their way to help us when the taxi couldn't find the hotel. Apparently, the Grab site does not list the hotel and you need to walk a short distance to a cafe down the road for the taxi pick up. The hotel was about a 20 walk to the Nawarat Bridge so not quite as convenient for walking as we had thought, but it was on a quiet street with a couple nice cafes nearby. We really enjoyed the clean and refreshing pool. If you are here for the lantern festival, go to the Doi Saket lake area (not the hot springs!) for the mass launching and don't let them convince you that it is a paid event. It is free! The lanterns were banned in 2022 and 2023 in the town and on the bridge although we heard that people sent them up anyways. Take a taxi or the red trucks to Doi Saket lake village area. Overall, we really enjoyed this hotel and would highly recommend it.

“Extremely clean, safe and friendly…”

Extremely clean, safe and friendly… just a lovely hotel to stay at. Everything is perfect. This is a very well run hotel just outside the hectic areas. I cannot recommend this hotel enough. The photos are 100% accurate. Everything works - you will not be disappointed.

“A boutique hotel with a 5-star standard”

During our 2-month long travel in Chiang Mai, we have tried 7 different hotels and Villa Sanpakoi is hands down the best among all. Despite the size as a boutique hotel, they carry a service standard of a 5-star hotel - the staff are super friendly (everyone always greet you with a genuine smile); the room is absolutely clean (I could not even find a single finger print during my month-long stay here); the amenity provided (e.g. they provide 4 bottles of water everyday vs. most other hotels just provide 2), the free bikes that help us get around conveniently, the pool facilities (the pool is super clean and abundant towels are always filled at the pool side); the complimentary breakfast covers both thai and western options.... While the hotel is just 10-min drive to old town by Grab, it also has an advantage of being close a very interesting local neighbourhood - more than 20 charming cafes and local eatery around (we found many of them the best in town!), 5-min cycling to the very local San Pa Koi Market where we could get authentic Thai food and fruits, 5-min cycling to the Ping riverside where there are a wide variety of bars and resturants, a 1-min walk to coin laundry, etc We were also very lucky to be here during Songkran and were again pleasantly surprised by the hotel when they set up water buckets at the entrance to let us enjoy the festival like local, which is an unforgettable experience for us.
