“incredible resort, and would highly recommend!”

This was a great resort and had the perfect blend of having everything that a large hotel chain has but the intimacy of a boutique hotel that had luxury and warmth. Highly recommend!

  • The top reviews of Anantara Golden Triangle Elephant Camp & Resort are: There are hotel stays, and then there are experiences that stay with you for a lifetime. My birthday stay at Anantara Golden Triangle Elephant Camp & Resort was undoubtedly one of those unforgettable journeys. From the very first moment we arrived, every detail was thoughtfully curated, and every team member genuinely cared about making our stay exceptional. Our arrival was warmly welcomed by Khun Nancy from the Front Office. Despite the fact that I was in the middle of an important phone call during check-in and couldn't fully pay attention, she patiently guided my family through every detail and ensured the entire arrival process was seamless. We were served refreshing welcome drinks, complete with sustainable straws made from whole lemongrass—a beautiful touch that immediately reflected the resort's commitment to sustainability. We then took part in the traditional welcome ritual, where we received bracelets handcrafted from natural plant beads while participating in the "Riak Khwan" ceremony, a beautiful Northern Thai spiritual blessing believed to bring good fortune and positive energy. It was such a meaningful way to begin our stay. We were then escorted to our Mekong Explorer Suite, which offers breathtaking panoramic views of the Ruak River and the meeting point of Thailand, Myanmar, and Laos. The suite itself was spacious, elegantly designed, and perfectly suited for the three of us. Walking into the room completely took my breath away. The birthday surprises exceeded every expectation—the beautifully decorated bed, thoughtful welcome amenities, delicious birthday cake, and a bottle of Prosecco made me feel incredibly special. For a late lunch, we ordered in-room dining and decided on the Garlic Shrimp Pizza. Surprisingly, it turned out to be one of the best pizzas we've ever had. Kudos to the chefs! That evening, we dined at Samsarn, the resort's remarkable fine dining restaurant showcasing cuisines from the three countries surrounding the Golden Triangle. Every dish was memorable. We especially loved the Khao Soi Khwai (braised beef cheeks with Northern Thai curry noodles), Shan Stir-Fried Noodles from Myanmar, and the comforting Kai Dam Soup with black chicken wontons. The culinary experience alone is worth visiting the resort. Breakfast the following morning was another highlight. Rather than a traditional buffet, the resort offers an elegant à la carte breakfast complemented by a thoughtfully selected semi-buffet. It gave us the opportunity to try dishes that are difficult to find elsewhere, including authentic Mohinga, the famous Burmese curry noodle soup. They also served jasmine rice with roasted duck and crispy pork, specialties well-known in Chiang Mai and Chiang Rai. Combined with the serene atmosphere and spectacular views overlooking the Ruak River and the three-country border, it became one of the most beautiful breakfast settings I've ever experienced at any hotel. One of the absolute highlights of our stay was the Walking with Giants experience. Walking alongside rescued elephants while learning about their individual stories, behaviors, and conservation efforts was both educational and deeply moving. A special thank you to Khun Tiger, whose knowledge and passion made the experience even more meaningful. My mother was especially touched and still talks about it. What impressed me most, however, happened on our final morning. When we returned for breakfast, the team escorted us back to exactly the same table we had enjoyed the previous day. Without us saying a word, they asked whether my mother and I would like our coffees prepared exactly the same way as before. It may seem like a small gesture, but this level of genuine recognition and attention to detail perfectly represents true luxury hospitality. Later that morning, we had scheduled the Sidecar Adventure. Although heavy rain delayed our departure by almost an hour, the team patiently adjusted the itinerary. Once the weather cleared, we explored the Golden Triangle by sidecar, visiting Wat Phra That Doi Pu Khao and Wat Sop Ruak—beautiful temples that many visitors often overlook. It became another unforgettable part of our journey. Sadly, it was finally time to leave for our next destination in Chiang Rai city. When we called for luggage assistance, the team arrived almost immediately—as if they had been waiting nearby. Before departing, we participated in one final farewell ritual, where we were given a floral hand garland to offer to the Buddha statue in the lobby as a blessing for safe travels and good fortune. It was such a beautiful and heartfelt way to conclude our stay. I would like to extend my heartfelt appreciation to the incredible team at Anantara Golden Triangle Elephant Camp & Resort. My sincere thanks to Khun Jean-Marc and Khun Edward for leading such an exceptional team. Every single team member we encountered contributed to making our stay truly remarkable. This wasn't simply a luxury hotel stay—it was an experience filled with genuine warmth, thoughtful hospitality, meaningful cultural touches, outstanding cuisine, unforgettable wildlife encounters, and heartfelt service. Without question, this has become one of the most memorable birthdays I have ever celebrated. Thank you, Anantara Golden Triangle, for creating memories that my family and I will cherish forever.
