We stayed here for 5 nights and thoroughly enjoyed our stay! We stayed here for 5 nights and thoroughly enjoyed our stay! From the kind and helpful staff to the rooms that weren't that fancy but had everything we needed for our stay, to the wide breakfast choice and the help from the hotel staff to pick our bags from the boat upon arrival. There was something, however, that really pissed us off happening every single day: there were around 30 sunbeds available for hotel guests and every single day of our stay, 5/6 of them would stay unoccupied because some selfish inconsiderate guests decided to leave a towel there for the whole day to book them. We've witnessed many guests arriving and trying to find one free, only to find all of these empty, with unused towels on them. This was quite annoying for us because it shows a lack of respect for other guests, but we feel that the hotel can do much more about it, for example, put a warning in the bar area mentioning that sunbeds unoccupied for 2.5 hours or more will become available to other guests. Also, the fact that from the reception seats the staff can't see the sunbeds doesn't help them notice when this happens. On one occasion, we stayed 3 hours sat on the sand after lunch and no one came to their sunbeds so we went to the reception and mentioned that we would be taking them because they were empty all that time, they said fine, and right before the sunset, the guests that left the towels there showed up and had the nerves to say that they left their towels there in the morning and now wanted to take pictures at sunset on them, we told them reception was aware so they left empty-handed as we went nowhere... Crazy how people can be so self-centered and entitled that don't even realize the other guests are also paying to use the amenities, not only them. Apart from that, wifi connection is not perfect in the rooms but because our mobile internet was working fine, and we didn't need to work on our laptop, we didn't bother. Although it might be a consideration for people that need to work remotely.

“Great place in a super location”

This is a lovely hotel, run by very friendly staff. The location is perfect, away from too many of the boats so swimming was easy and the sunloungers easy to move in and out of the shade. The room was clean and all we needed as we spent our days on the beach. Food was good, cheap beers and breakfas… more

This is a lovely hotel, run by very friendly staff. The location is perfect, away from too many of the boats so swimming was easy and the sunloungers easy to move in and out of the shade. The room was clean and all we needed as we spent our days on the beach. Food was good, cheap beers and breakfast just enough. We would recommend for a chilled stay with easy access to the other bars and restaurants.

“Great location , but the rooms (at least mine) are falling into decline and they need to invest”

This was the most expensive place we stayed in over first 5 weeks touring round Thailand. Koh Lipe isn’t a cheap place so we expected that, but we were disappointed with the Bella Vista as it’s seems to be well on road to decline. Fees high, maintenance low - feels Like they are preparing for a sale. Anyway the room was pleasant enough but you didn’t have to look hard to see maintenance issues : skirting boards pushed against wall which fell off when door was shut, shower fascia hanging off wall, sink tap so loose we feared touching it in case it broke completely, funny hole on floor tiles in bathroom, veneer around bed coming off and needed glued down, shower glass dirty and had not been cleaned in a while, only 6 of the approximately 18 sun umbrellas in action and so all gone by 07:30, sunbeds are awful (no mattress) and fall apart in the middle often to nae but a few. It’s not all bad. The location is excellent, a lovely beach away from the longboats. Fresh towels every day , short walk to walking street, reasonable breakfast (though some days they had a lot less than others), it was quiet, the air conditioning works well, staff were friendly, and room has a decent fridge. Bed was very hard , normal I think. So we enjoyed ourselves , but there is a lot of room for improvement at the Bella Vista. Looking through the feedback, these are not new points, so I guess the will is not really there and they will continue to milk the tourist
