The hotel is full of small individual rooms with a balcony, we chose one with a beach view, which took all of approx 30 steps to the small beach. If you want a long stretch of lovely sand then walk further into Kai Bae. There are 2 pools here one is adult only & the same depth the whole length. Breakfast is ample with plenty of choice You get free water daily as well as coffee The hotel is approx 5 mins from lots of places to eat, all at reasonable prices. If you prefer wine to beer it’s available at around 120-150 baht per glass & if you want to by a bottle use the supermarket as much cheaper than 7/11 All in all we have loved our stay here and yes we will come back

The greatest asset this hotel has is the staff. We did not meet one person who was not friendly, welcoming and happy. The staff are very keen to make your stay as enjoyable as possible. Thai people are generally known for their friendliness, but the staff at Gajapuri take things to a much higher level. The grounds are kept neat and tidy with beautiful plants throughout. Beds are comfortable, WiFi is strong, the SMART Tv is loaded with many international channels and the air conditioning works well, and unusually for hotels, the water in the shower is consistently hot. The view from the beach is stunning. A great resort to relax and unwind. Only one negative for us was the problem with flies constantly on the food in the breakfast self service buffet area. Pre made sandwiches, fruit, jams and bread were a magnet for flies. Other than that, the breakfast offering was excellent.

I want to start with a couple of warnings, this is not the resort for you if you have young children or if you are disabled or unsteady on your feet. All the walkways are a meter+ above ground with no barriers, the pools are also easily accessible to young children. We stayed in the 2 room pool suite which is excellent but definitely not for small children either. There are slightly hidden deep drops off the edge of the decking and around the pool. The whole place was an accident waiting to happen. I would have had a nightmare watching my kids 24/7 when they were younger. As for the unsteady on feet, I fully fell over once and slipped a few times on the decking when it's wet (we visited in the rainy season). Now to the good stuff. The hotel is lovely traditional style wooden lodges dotted around the site. Each with a wooden decking area. Some are more private than others. The beach front ones are not private at all. The staff are so friendly, polite and helpful. Always happy to help/serve you. Every lodge has sunbeds which I think is a nice touch. The air con is very good and there is a fan too if you want both or just the fan. I can't sleep with the air con on all night. The bathroom in our 2 bedroom pool Lodge was large and well equipped. The water pressure was good. The bath didn't fill up via the main taps but slowly filled up with the shower head. This was the same in both bathrooms. The cleaning was OK. The floors and bedding were cleaned well but the rubbish etc was not picked up from our deck or pool area. We also didn't get complimentary water two days and didn't get towels in one room one day. Also the auto door locks whilst seeming a good idea are useless. The doors don't line up well unless you hold them to lock it and the lock makes a lot of noise when it can't make contact with the hole. 2 of our 3 rooms had issue with the locks not opening at all, one we couldn't get to work so had to call maintenance out. Breakfast was very limited in its selection and the same every day but this might be different in the more busy seasons. The food was of very good quality, the waffles in particular were fantastic and you can order egg dishes to be made to order. There is also fresh juice, fruit, yoghurt and cereal. Because we went in July which is rainy season it was pretty much dead so lacked some atmosphere. They were also doing building work but I think this just cut off the business centre which we didn't want anyway. There is no spa, I don't know why it's called spa but there are plenty of local massage shops nearby. There is a good bar and restaurant right next door which you can get to via the beach although it's a little bit precarious or you can go via the road. Lots of restaurants, shops etc on the main road all easy walking distance. Two 711s and another supermarket within 5 mins. The hotel also offers orderable drinks via WhatsApp to stock your fridge. The beach is small but still nice to be on the waters edge and it has nice seating and swings etc. There is a bigger beach 10 mins walk down the road. You can borrow kayaks for free, it can be tricky getting back to shore with the waves. We had a look around some other hotels that we considered when looking for hotels. We are a family of 5 adults/teenagers so getting rooms right can be tricky. Next time I'd like to try Sylvan or maybe the Dinso but that's really expensive and quite American.

We stayed in a beachfront bungalow. Positives were the lovely view and beautiful beach. Breakfast was good and the staff very helpful. Negatives were the room which was very tired, particularly the shower / bathroom. Could do with an update. Food and drink were in our opinion very expensive so we did not dine or drink there other than breakfast which was included in the room rate. Overall felt it was expensive.
