Hua Hin remains one of our preferred destinations for a leisure getaway, and we typically make a point of selecting different hotels to experience a variety of atmospheres and service styles. On this occasion, however, the hotel selection was arranged by relatives, and unfortunately, it did not align with our expectations. We found Best Western Plus Carapace Hua Hin to be positioned more as a budget-oriented family hotel with limited service. From a service perspective, the overall guest engagement at the Front Desk fell short. A number of team members appeared more focused on chattering amongst each other than attending to guests. That said, there were a few notable exceptions—specifically, a bell attendant (small guy) who provided his service to us upon arrival and a Front Desk supervisor (identifiable by a distinct uniform), both of whom demonstrated a commendable level of friendliness and professionalism. While an additional fee for our child was duly collected, the corresponding in-room amenities for triple occupancy were not provided. We had to request for additional towels, drinking water by ourselves. This created a gap in the overall guest experience. Furthermore, I was surprised to learn that a request for an additional pillow would incur a charge of THB 500, which seems disproportionate to standard hospitality practices. The breakfast experience was underwhelming. The overall presentation and quality of food were below expectations. Desserts were not palatable, and the cut fruits appeared dry, as though they had been left out for an extended period. At approximately 9:40 a.m., the noodle station offered only noodles and broth, requiring guests to source protein from other stations such as the congee counter. Additionally, the service interaction with Sous Chef “Sarun” was not in line with expected hospitality standards, as there was no greeting or engagement, which gave an impression of reluctance. In contrast, the hostesses and waitress were courteous and helpful. Room cleanliness also requires improvement. We found hair on the bathroom floor and on bath mat. Upon departure, the service lapse continued. The bell staff neither offered assistance with luggage nor extended a farewell. Instead, their attention remained on internal conversations, and service was directed toward newly arriving guests. This left a lasting impression regarding the level of service at the property. Moving forward, we would be more inclined to return to properties such as Amari Hua Hin or InterContinental Hua Hin, which have consistently delivered a higher standard of service and overall guest experience.

“Perfect for families with children, not for adults.”

My husband and I stayed at this hotel for 19 nights. When we decided to book it, we didn’t realize that the children would take over the dining area, the pool at the Beach Club, and the sunbed area. My husband and I stayed at this hotel for 19 nights. When we decided to book it, we didn’t realize that the children would take over the dining area, the pool at the Beach Club, and the sunbed area. There is a really nice pool area with several water slides that is perfect for children. I understand that parents also want to spend time at the Beach Club, but then they need to make sure their children stay calmer and don’t take over everything. I am incredibly tired of children screaming and crying from 7 a.m. when the pool with the water slide opened (and why does it open as early as 7?!), during breakfast in the morning, and then all day long at the Beach Club pool. For that reason, we will never visit this hotel again — but it is perfect for families with children! That said, the staff were very friendly. We had a problem with the air conditioning and it was fixed within 10 minutes! There was always plenty of water in the room, and everything was nice and clean. Wonderful beds and bedding. The breakfast was very good. There was always something to eat, ranging from different Thai dishes to fresh fruit and vegetables. The hotel also offered free transportation to and from Hua Hin Night Market and a larger shopping center. However, always double-check with the driver so that you agree on the same pickup time and pickup location. l
