I would like to express my sincere gratitude for such a wonderful and relaxing stay at this exceptional resort hotel. From the moment I arrived, the experience was outstanding. A special thank you to Khun JJ (Kanlaya) for the smooth check-in process and for providing clear and comprehensive information with genuine warmth and professionalism. The afternoon tea was delightful, with a wonderful selection of delicious food and desserts. The day ended perfectly with evening cocktails, followed by an impeccable breakfast at the Club Lounge. Everything was beautifully prepared, and the quality of both the food and service exceeded my expectations. What truly made this stay memorable was the outstanding hospitality of every staff member. Everyone was attentive, friendly, and always checked if there was anything else I needed. I would especially like to thank Khun Sai, Khun Saifah, and Khun Jua for their exceptional care and kindness throughout my stay. Their dedication made me feel truly welcomed and valued. Thank you once again for creating such a memorable experience. I look forward to returning for another stay in the near future.

I had an absolutely wonderful massage at Laksana. The staff were warm, welcoming, and highly professional. My therapist was very skilled, paid attention to every detail, and made sure I was comfortable throughout the session. I left feeling completely relaxed, refreshed, and free of tension. It was one of the best massage experiences I’ve ever had. I highly recommend Laksana to anyone looking for a high-quality, relaxing massage. I’ll definitely be coming back!

“Okay but isolated”

I am bit conflicted about my review of Intercontinental Pattaya, because although there were some good points there were also a number of things I did not like. We were a family, ambassador status, & stayed for 4 nights in 2 rooms. Because of our status our rooms were upgraded and no complaints there - the rooms were lovely, large, well appointed, good size balconies. The 3 pools were also very nice & the pool attendant attentive with towels & cold water. The kids club was well stocked with a large variety of toys etc to interest different ages. But… we were told we could not leave our child for more than 1 hour unattended or we would be charged for babysitting. The television in our room had limited channels and nothing child friendly (& also practically nothing in English). One of our children was sick & we had to ask the resort where to contact a doctor. It would have been nice if staff would have followed up to enquire about the health of the child. Also, despite us being guests for several days no staff acknowledged or remembered us at breakfast or elsewhere. We found the English language skills of the staff really poor. The resort is on the side of a hill so there are a lot of steps for those who might be mobility challenged. There was a fair amount of rain during our stay & part of the breakfast room was flooded - surely an awning over the outdoor area would prevent a situation like this? The beach has lovely sand but is small & not swimmable. Town is relatively far (there is a shuttle or you can take a grab) so guests at the resort are quite isolated and there are no other services or places to walk nearby. So in all, a bit of a disappointment….

I have mixed feelings about this hotel. Overall, we had a pleasant stay, and it is a lovely property for relaxing by the pool. However, as someone who stays at InterContinental hotels regularly and is an IHG Ambassador member, I felt this property fell short in several areas where stronger management and a greater focus on the guest experience could make a significant difference. From an IHG Ambassador perspective, the experience did not meet expectations. There was no dedicated Ambassador check-in or meaningful recognition throughout our four-night stay. Despite traveling with young children, no staff member greeted us by name or took the opportunity to engage with us personally. I also did not receive my Ambassador welcome amenities until I called to request them, which was disappointing. While every staff member we encountered was polite, many struggled with English, making it difficult to answer even basic questions. This was especially noticeable at the Kids Club, where there were several staff members on duty, but they were unable to provide simple information and spent much of their time chatting together rather than interacting with families. There were also several operational issues that, individually, were minor but together affected the overall experience. Housekeeping recorded that we had declined turndown service, despite never asking us. A bag of dirty linen was left outside our room for most of the day on multiple occasions, and one of our room service orders was delivered to the wrong room. The in-room television selection was also surprisingly limited, with no children's channels available, so our children ended up using their tablets instead. The moment that stood out most to me happened on our arrival. My daughter was experiencing a medical issue, and I asked the front desk to help me contact a doctor before taking a Grab to a clinic. The staff assisted with the initial request and even took a photo to send to their manager. While the hotel had no obligation to do more, a simple follow-up call to ask how she was doing would have been the kind of thoughtful, personalized service I have come to expect from a five-star luxury hotel. Small gestures like this often leave the biggest impression. More broadly, throughout our stay we never really felt personally recognized or that there was genuine engagement from the staff. On our final morning, heavy rain exposed what seemed to be a design issue around the breakfast area. Because there was little overhead protection, rainwater flooded the walkways, stairs, and parts of the restaurant. This created long queues, overcrowding, and a chaotic breakfast experience that felt inconsistent with the standards of a luxury hotel. Given that heavy rain is common in Thailand, this seems like an area that could benefit from a more permanent solution. It is also worth noting that the property is not particularly accessible. Although the hillside layout is beautiful, it requires navigating numerous staircases, many of which become slippery when wet. Even the lobby does not have an easily accessible restroom, requiring guests to walk down two flights of stairs. Overall, this is an attractive resort with excellent potential, and we still enjoyed our stay. However, I believe there is considerable room for improvement in service consistency, staff training, guest recognition, and operational management. Addressing these areas would elevate the experience and better align the hotel with the standards guests expect from the InterContinental brand.
