Rooms were modern and clean. Housekeepers were excellent. Reception staff very helpful and friendly. We spent a lot of time in the area just outside of the restaurant. Staff there were also very friendly. There’s a pool table available and free to use near reception which is good to fill time and wind down. However, it wasn’t long after we arrived that a ball disappeared from the table and cue tip was broken. Probably due to the amount of unsupervised toddlers and young children messing around. At one point we saw one young child playing basketball with one of the pool balls while the parents watched on. If I were the hotel manager, I would keep the pool balls and cues behind reception and introduce a deposit policy. That way, people are more likely to look after them. Happy Hour in the bar area on the evening was 4pm - 6pm. They ran out of Chang lager and there was no other lager alternative. Again, a note to the manager - back in the UK if a type of drink is not available, you are often provided with an alternative. In this case it could have been buy one get one free Singha bottles while they waited a new Chang lager barrel. The hotel missed an opportunity here to sell more drinks. Tried the food once at the buffet and found it revolting. As did my son. There was barely anything left on one side of the buffet area the one time we accessed it. The other side, there were a couple of curry dishes. However, it felt like the cheapest pieces of meat and still on the bone. Which put us off eating there. Given the poor experience with the buffet, we didn’t bother with the complimentary breakfast. The fact there were bars to visit close by, a 7 eleven around the corner and plenty of food places, including the shopping centre Terminal 21 - the issue with the awful food and lack of drink options wasn’t a major issue. A tip for those who’ve never visited Pattaya before too - never ask a Baht Bus driver how much a fare is before you jump on the back - because they will do anything to try and rip you off. You should either tell them where you want to go and jump on the back or just jump on the back and press the stop button. We also downloaded the Bolt app (similar to Uber) that saved us a lot and taxis of all sizes were readily available. We used Bolt to get taxis to bars outside of the centre to watch the World Cup matches. I felt this information about Baht Buses could have been relayed by reception on check in. I also noted there was a shuttle bus from this hotel to the Amari. We were never advised why this was but assume OZO guests can maybe use the Amari facilities? It’s worth enquiring on check in. When we extended our stay for another night or two, we were handed a typed sheet of paper stating prices of the hotel vans for transport to Bangkok. For Bangkok City the flyer stated 2800 baht. When my wife enquired at reception she was told it was around 3600 baht. I don’t think there was any malicious intent from the staff with the discrepancy but rather the prices maybe haven’t been updated? We ordered an XL vehicle via Bolt instead for 2,500 Baht. The balconies of the sea view rooms are so small, there are no chairs or table. We had initially booked these rooms to spend time in the balcony but there was only the one chair we could take from the room and move outside. So, we didn’t bother in the end. These a just a couple of small moans and are things that can be acted upon quickly. All in all, this hotel is one of the best we’ve visited in Pattaya and probably in one of the best locations. Far enough away from the busyness of Beach Road but close enough to jump on a Baht Bus or grab a taxi into the centre or Walking Street. We found the staff to be amazing and loved it so much we extended our stay a couple of times and even invited other family members to stay. Our housekeeper was brilliant too on the 17th floor. Very polite, chatty and couldn’t do enough for us. We would definitely stay here again next time we visit. A massive thank you to all of the staff who made our stay so enjoyable!
